Lawmakers from 9 Countries ‘Furious’ at Zuckerberg After He No-Showed Facebook Hearing

Breitbart Tech- – –  Lawmakers from nine countries, including Britain, Canada, and France, were reportedly “furious” after Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg decided to not show up at an international committee hearing. A Canadian MP described Facebook as “a high school company collecting adult paychecks.”

Zuckerberg decided not to show up to the international committee hearing, which was held in London, England, on Tuesday, and instead sent British lord and Facebook Vice President of Policy Solutions, Richard Allan, who reportedly “bore the brunt of the committee’s fury during the grueling 165-minute hearing.”

The nine countries at the hearing included Britain, Ireland, Canada, France, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Singapore, and Latvia.

“To not have your CEO sit in that chair is an offense to all of us,” declared Canadian MP Bob Zimmer, who described Facebook as “a high school company collecting adult paychecks.”

“To me they don’t get it, I still don’t think they get it,” he proclaimed, while Canadian MP Charlie Angus added, “While we were playing on our phones and apps our democratic institutions, our formal civil conversations seem to have been upended by frat boy billionaires from California.”  more here

  1. While I don’t like him or his product, I fully agree with and support his decision not to attend. Other than act as a foil while a bunch of Prancing Nancys thump their chests and berate him for his success, what would his attendance have accomplished? I applaud the fact that he has the balls to tell the preening politicians to suck eggs. The tone of their faux outrage confirms that this was just a publicity stunt that would allow a slew of rent seekers, many who have never created anything, to bully a multi-billionaire who created more wealth than all of the clowns combined. This “hearing” looks like the precursor to a typical Euro-Commie shakedown of a successful business that the re-distributionists feel isn’t “paying it’s fair share”.

  2. Reply To L o L,

Yes, Zuckerberg so very, very bravely sent a corporate underling in his place.

Balls?? Zuckerberg is quite the Noballsman.

When you take home the big paychecks, you show up to earn them and take the big heat. He hid behind a subordinate. This overpaid, megalomaniacal manchild will destroy Facebook.

    I look forward to it.

  3. I think L o L has some valid points. If those grandstanding blowhards need to generate some soundbites, let them file criminal charges. If what FB is doing is merely vile, despicable, unethical, deplorable, predatory, and abusive, I don’t think those are crimes.

FB does not compel participation. All their victims volunteered.

  4. 6…that’s weird. Facebook serves the NWO. Europe LOVES the NWO. Seems like the ONLY thing they would ACTUALLY be mad at him for would be sending an understudy to play his role in the Kabuki theatre they staged to mislead the masses into thinking they’re NOT all on the same side and against US…

  5. In a show of solidarity, all nine lawmakers courageously unfriended Mark Zuckerberg and vowed to not update their profiles for at least two weeks.

…if they WERE, @Lowell, ALL the Democrats would get the Chair…

…come to think of it, even with ACTUAL crimes and ACTUAL subpoenas, Democrats won’t show, and ZERO consequences even THEN. Ask Hillary’s IT guy how THAT works, and he’s no Zuck…

  7. “It will not surprise me at all if Zuck is found floating face down in an LA canal with a .45 caliber hole in the back of his head…..”

….why would THAT happen @Reg, did he make Hillary mad?

    …we’ll know if it’s ruled a “suicide”, I suppose…

  8. Lowell,

What about attempting to subvert the outcome of a national election?

    Victimless voluntary participation? Or crime?

Involving the voluntary users of Facebook in this argument is a distraction. This is about the top leadership of Facebook.

Zuckerberg had a responsibility to attend (as he had promised) to represent Facebook. It’s what he’s paid to do.

Instead, he bolted. The motives of the panel for the hearing are irrelevant. Zuckerberg had the gift of an international forum to expose the supposed questionable intentions of the hearing.

Instead he panicked. And threw an underling into the line of fire. If an openly conservative CEO of a Fortune 500 company had done the same, they would have been publicly rebuked until removed from their position. Instead The Left are circling the wagons around Zuckerberg saying “he wasn’t wrong for not showing up. The panel was wrong for asking him”.

Zuckerberg is slowly losing control. And, I repeat…I’m enjoying his meltdown
