The image shows a father praying over his newborn son in a Brazilian hospital nursery. Taken moments after the newborn’s birth, the photo was captured by Jana Brasil Photography, and countless people have been touched by the candid, prayerful moment. A series of photos, including the one of prayer, originally was posted on Instagram by the father in the photo, Victor Calmon.
The 33-year-old first-time father took to social media to share a few words about his family, writing: “That moment when it hits you like a ton of bricks and your hands are shaking because you suddenly discover your purpose and the reason you’re in this world. To God I say, ‘Thank you,’ to my wife I say, ‘I love you,’ and to my son I say, ‘Welcome!’”

Geesh! Look at the tattoos… …all over!
I can only hope he is “reformed.” ….Lady in Red
God hears and answers the prayers of His children. Would that more men as examples knelt with their children in prayer.
Lady in Red, the tattoos are from the past, the prayer is in the present. Looks reformed to me.
Good luck, new father.
“I can only hope he is “reformed.”
He’s probably ex military. I’m not a big fan of tats, but dang the military youngsters like them.
@ Lady in Red – STOP for a minute would you?
Either you are not a parent or hate people with tats.
Which is it?
He is KNEELLING next to his newborn, what do you NOT get?
Even kids with tattoos have faith.
I hope all works well. That is all. I am sorry for being skittish.
He is loving. ….Lady in Red
Very Powerful! This humble Godly father is setting up through his faithful prayer, major blessings for him and his family. How loving and wonderful. Amen!
“Psalm 7:17 I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the LORD Most High” The Holy Bible.
Becoming a father changed me. God’s GLORY is in all of us.
God bless him.
And I agree, that becoming a father can change a man. Make him who he is meant to be. It changed my father for the better so I can testify to the power of it.
Enjoy the child until your wife decides she’s unhappy all of a sudden and files. Then the sexist animals in divorce court will decide that you can only see your kid 3 weeks a year. Enjoy.
That’s a beautiful picture. And I love his Rosary tattoo.
Childbirth will always be a miracle, never duplicated by humans. We will never truly understand it – it is in God’s domain.
Humans will attempt it, but all they will ever get is monsters of one form or another. They will be welcome by liberals and atheists, of course.
