Convict Kermit Gosnell is worried that more states are not considering late-term abortion laws

DC: Convicted abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell appears worried that more states are not considering late-term abortion laws like those passed in New York and introduced in Virginia, in an email obtained by The Daily Caller.

Gosnell expresses his “doubts” in the email sent from prison that “rural conservative” Pennsylvania would consider laws legalizing abortion up until birth. The piece of communication was part of correspondence between Gosnell and film producers of the movie “Gosnell,” and its veracity was verified by the Caller.

Gosnell was convicted of first degree murder in 2013 after killing infants that survived his failed abortions, as well as involuntary manslaughter after a woman died in his care.

Following his conviction, Gosnell claimed that his murderous practices would be “vindicated.”

“It helps that I very strongly believe myself to be innocent of the heinous crimes of which I am accused,” Gosnell said at the time. “I sort of understand the circumstances and I continue to feel optimistic of the eventual outcome … the vindication of what I’ve done, why I’ve done it and how — [it] will all become accepted within my lifetime. It’s out of sight and out of my control. But I feel strongly that that will occur.”

Now, a few years later, the state of New York has passed a law that allows doctors to perform abortions up until the infant’s due date, and similar laws have been considered in several other states.

Earlier this year, when Democratic Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam suggested that babies in the dilation stage would be subject to a discussion between the doctor and the mother, some saw the comments as a fulfillment of Gosnell’s prophecy.  more here

  1. Given that MANY legislators in New York, Virginia, Texas, et al, as well as ALL of the Demoncratic Party presidential candidates have endorsed the type of actions for which Gosnell was convicted of murder; is there not a Fourteenth Amendment argument to be made that mens rea did not attach to Gosnell’s actus reus for each count?

  2. I’M proud to tell y’all that I supported the making of the movie “Gosnell” The trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer.
“The shocking true story of the investigation and trial of abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell- his 30 year killing spree and how the political
and media establishment tried to cover it up. The trial became hugely controversial after it went mostly unreported amid allegations that the liberal media establishment was censoring a story that shone a negative light on abortion.” (From the DVD cover)
Last week, film makers Phelim McAleer and Ann McElhinney, sent me a copy of the film, as they promised all of their supporters. It is well worth watching. It is not full of gore, but quite disturbing.
