Trump wants to overturn MLB deal with Cuba, which would make it harder for players to come.
The Donald Trump administration is seeking to overturn a Barack Obama-era deal between Major League Baseball and Cuba, the result of which would lead to it becoming harder for Cuban players to come play in the United States, according to NBC News.
The decision that was made by the Obama administration said the Cuban baseball league was not part of the Cuban government. The Trump administration is attempting to reverse the decision by saying the league and government are intertwined.
In a letter to the Treasury Department, obtained by ESPN’s Jeff Passan, the Trump administration writes that “A payment to the Cuban Baseball Federation is a payment to the Cuban government.”
The Obama-era rule made it possible for players from Cuba to come to the United States and play with Major League teams without the danger of defecting.
We don’t need any more commies in our country.
What the hell does “without the danger of defecting” mean? If a player came over and decided to defect would the Obama administration order him deported back to Cuba?
Anyway, I might try to keep accepting Cuban players but put a cap in place. There’s nothing better then a successful baseball player going back home in expensive suits, shoes, luggage and lottsa dough to spread the word that the US democracy is way better then Cuban communism.

Sounds like the Obama deal can be summed up as: we’ll give Cuba lots of money, and if their baseball players come here and try to defect we’ll round them up and send them back. Is that about right?
