Music That’s “Over The Top”

For those who like their history mixed with heavy metal music (or vice versa) have I got a treat for you.

The Swedish band (they sing in English), Sabaton makes military history their subject with a particular emphasis on heroism. Their new album, “The Great War” came out last month and today the band released their newest video “Fields of Verdun.”  Watch

Indie Nidel of the “Great War Channel” teamed up earlier this year with Sabaton to give background on the band’s songs. The supporting feature for “Fields of Verdun.” Here

  1. @DT never really been a metal head BUT.

These guys do LOVE their history, are tight and are very righteous….Right on I say.

In the vid below @2:45 a Sopwith Camel flies OFF an aircraft carrier and the Barnstormers raided the sky. This band KNOWS the time of day.

  2. The only metal band I liked was The Mentors (when I was a teen).

They were TERRIBLE. And to think that just a few years later I even eschewed ZZ Top for their overt overtness.

It’s about time that metal got past their dead babies, decay, and filth.

  4. My buddy’s 12 year old son LOVES this band. He also rails against fourth wave feminism. I think he’s off to a good start. One of the rousing choruses from on of their songs is something like, “Slaughter!! Persians!! Slaughter!! Persians!!”
