Campus Reform: Trinity University sent out an email Friday rejecting the student government’s request to remove Chick-fil-A from its campus dining hall.
Tess Coody-Anders, the Texas Christian school’s vice president for strategic communications and marketing. stated, “We do not make vendor decisions based on their political or religious beliefs,” in an email to students obtained by Campus Reform, adding that the school considers “utilization, variety of options, vendor performance, and campus-wide feedback.”
“Based on these criteria, Chick-fil-A appears to be a preferred vendor by students and the broader Trinity community,” the email continued.
Trinity’s student government previously passed a resolution to remove Chick-fil-A from the school’s dining hall because of its stance on LGBT issues. The body took issue with the restaurant chain’s donations to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Salvation Army, and the Paul Anderson Youth Home. more here
A Christian based school has a student government that wants to ban a Christian owned business. The school needs to work on their admissions process.
Glad to see someone is fighting this BS!
WTF are LGBT “issues”??
“Speaking the truth in times of universal deceit is a revolutionary act.” Geo. Orwell
Wait! This is happening at a ‘Christian school’??
Did you ever notice that progressives are always opposed to freedom of choice when they are sure that the majority won’t choose their way?
Afraid of nothing This is pure fascism. Dont cut these sick ficks any quarter.
CFA never discriminated in any way against any gay, lesbian, etc. either customers or employees. Their only “crime” was donating to defense of marriage 10 or 15 years ago. But their REAL crime is being a Christian-owned company.
Trinity (although the word itself is not in the Bible) forms the core of Christianity. Students who want to change the Christian foundation need to find another school. Period.
The upside down purple triangle is their trinity. They do still believe in the cross though because they climb up and nail themselves to it it every time they come into contact with a different opinion.
Christian by religious designation is not the same as living a Christian lifestyle, which is the proof of real faith. An institution claiming to be Christian, doesn’t make it so. Same for individuals, as is indicated by the students complaining about Chik-fil-a’s moral standards.
Conservatives are far more interested in living their lives than in having a hand in controlling other people’s lives, so are far less interested in getting involved in government. Unfortunately this skews the pool of candidates. Particularly with student government.
Student govt is nothing but a mess of chicken giblets.
True story, my younger brother is a tenured professor there. He calls his students, privately to me, children. He says that the bulk of them don’t have the skills to function in the real world. It’s good to see the administration push back.
Proof that calling yourself “Christian” does not mean that you are.
“Trinity University student government is afraid of Chick-fil-A”
I have no doubt they are much more afraid of GOD and his reckoning.
Notice how the godless rats always cockroach
their way into positions where they can damage
true Christians? The University ought to play
their nasty little trick back on them and tell
those who voted for this that due to their inability
to demonstrate Christian values, it would be their
last semester and suggest they apply to Harvard.
First it was the phrase “Merry Christmas”, then it was coffee cups with “Happy Holidays”, now chicken sandwiches. Mental illness really is on the rise, welcome to the “Age of Outrage”.
