Patriot Retort: Four years ago, I suggested that it might be time for America to split.
Red and Blue America simply cannot continue pretending to even like each other anymore. We have, as I wrote at the time, Irreconcilable Differences.
The union between Red State Americans and Blue State Americans is irreparably damaged.
We have irreconcilable differences that we simply cannot overcome.
It isn’t even your affair with gay marriage. That’s nowhere near the biggest problem.
It’s just the last straw.
And, honestly, compared to your hundred year affair with Socialism? This affair with gay marriage really is just a drop in the bucket.
I think it’s time for you to move out.
Listen, I’d say we’d leave, but, really, you’ve always hated our home here in the United States of America. You’ve spent the last one hundred years trying to change our home. You’ve flirted with communism. We’ve seen how you made eyes at those Marxists in Cuba. Don’t tell me we’re wrong about that. And we hear those nasty things you say about our home to your friends in Europe and the Middle East.
So, no. We get to stay in the United States of America. You’re the ones who have to change your country’s name. Perhaps the Union of the Soviet Socialist Democracy. Has a nice ring to it, don’t you think? It has “union” in it, and I know how much you like that. Plus socialist! You guys have always been very taken with that word. And, since you’ve always thought we were a democracy even though we weren’t, “Democracy” seems an appropriate word for your new nation.
Now, I’m not the only conservative writer who suggested this split.
In April of last year, Jesse Kelly wrote “It’s Time for the United States to Divorce Before Things Get Dangerous.”
And this past February, Kurt Schlichter addressed this idea of a split in his column “It’s Time for America to Break Up with Liberals.”
Not to sound snotty or smug, but I wrote about it first, boys.
It really does seem that we are reaching the point where half the country detests the other half of the country. We all see the exact same news story. Half with conclude Trump is a puppet of Vladimir Putin. And the other half will conclude that President Trump was the victim of a witch hunt. more here

I’d love it! I’m sick of going through the stress of waiting for their next idiotic idea to be put into law. Then there’s taxes, intrusive snooping, and constant push for control over individuals. They are impossible to reason with and insufferable know-it-all’s.

Reading the Declaration of Independence, it is essentially a petition for divorce. It describes how the “relationship” should be vs how it actually was. And taxation was only one of roughly two dozen points regarding the issues leading to the split.
I agree with the article above except for the numbers. I think it’s more like 20% hard core on either side with 60% in the middle, not really interested one way or another. And the new blue USA will have to build the wall to keep people IN, because they will wake up. Perhaps slowly and gradually, but they will.

The serious ideological divisions in our country started first manifested under Clinton and became permanently irreversible and irreconcilable under Obama.
Once that happens, here or anywhere, it rarely results in a peaceful ending, there is no “new world” to flee to the way there was 500 years ago to avoid struggling against each other for control.

I made this observation 20+ years ago. I’ve seen a civil war coming for 30.
I agree about a dissolution as a solution. How about we deport “those people” to California, and we will build the wall around California-No doors (Intestate ends at the wall). California will be “Seceded”, if you know what I mean. As a result, everyone gets what they want. I will be staying in Florida.
Gallup has a new poll out that claims 43% of Americans support Socialism for the U.S.:

Those 43% are not going to voluntarily move anywhere. They are also the part of the majority electorate that keeps our Federal behemoth growing and justifying everything it does, aka The Swamp.
Split-up and give birth to the world’s newest Communist country side-by-side with it’s newest Constitutional Republic? Besides being almost impossible to do, how long would that work before we have no choice but to render our Communist neighbors DEAD?
The idea is equivalent to Civil War II. Might as well form-up and get on with it – and the winner takes the whole country.

If the country splits leave us on the Eastern side of Wash. state alone. You can have the Seattle area and that’s it. Same for Oregon, they can keep Portland and Salem, Eugene and the rest of the state goes with us. LA and San Francisco can secede as well to the left, the rest of the state turns red as well. And then those pinheads on the left can finally have their long desired Ecotopia. And you know of course that Utopia literally means nowhere.
I want to cut these people loose too but the problem is geography.

Even if some got voted off the island, they would invite in foreign enemies to our shores and those oceans wouldn’t be a defense anymore.

Humor me here. If Jesus is the Christian’s “Ark of the Covenant” and He ascended into Heaven (the Promised Land) after His crucifixion in 30-33 AD, then we could possibly “cross over into the Promised Land in….2030-2033 AD. Just something to contemplate…not setting dates.
That crossing over (whenever it happens) is known as the Rapture (the big split; separation). All unbelievers will be left on earth to suffer God’s wrath. But because God loves His children, He will take us off the earth on the day His wrath begins.
It has been all down hill since the Tower of Babel. After the flood, there was a single language. During the construction of the tower, our Creator scrambled the language, and many new groups formed, each with their own language. We all went our separate ways. We have never gotten along since. Steady as she goes. No end in sight.
Everyone gets to choose their own path. It doesn’t count for much here on the earth. But is does count with our Creator. Atheists don’t give a hoot about their Creator. That is the single biggest separation between us. Our Father in Heaven will have to straighten this out. I don’t believe that we can.
Anybody advocating for the dissolution of the union is a rebel and a traitor.
We didn’t kill enough of you lot the last go around. I doubt we’ll make the same mistake again.
I do not agree. The USA is not a marriage, it is a country. We fought to keep it a union in 1861-65, and we should be prepared to do it again.
Agreeing to a split is giving up. It says the other side is right and can go their own way. It is giving up the basic conservative ideals of free speech, right to life, and right to arm oneself, which the constitution gives to everyone.
Plus, we would be hemmed in on each side with a socialist tyranny. They eventually would want the whole thing, and invade us from each side. We would have to fight a two-front war.
I say we fight it out here, where we have a very good chanced of winning.
To keep the union intact, we have to fight it out.
Givem everything West of the Sierra Nevada, from Canada to Mexico.

All food reserves (farms) and natural water supply systems are NOT in the cities…meaning who controls that wins the end game.
Same can be said for the military bases scattered through out the rural areas of the country.
Texas would be the access point state for shipping, commerce and trade so we would not be landlocked, not that is an inherent problem. If anything it might makes us less vunerable from air/sea attack.

You make a good point. But even though they are crazy, they might try to take the whole thing. Remember they would allow all kinds of people into their country. They could overwhelm with numbers to take all the red states. It would be better, IMO, to never allow that scenario to happen.
