Jeh Johnson, former DHS secretary in Barack Obama’s administration, called presidential candidate Julian Castro’s proposal to decriminalize illegal border crossing essentially advocacy for “open borders.”
“That is tantamount to declaring publicly that we have open borders,” Johnson told the Washington Post. “That is unworkable, unwise and does not have the support of a majority of American people or the Congress, and if we had such a policy, instead of 100,000 apprehensions a month, it will be multiples of that.”
Other 2020 candidates, including Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.), Kirsten Gillibrand (D., N.Y.), and Kamala Harris (D., Calif.) as well as South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg have embraced the proposal. Eight of the more than 20 candidates have expressed explicit support for open borders. Sen. Cory Booker (D., N.J.) said he would “virtually eliminate immigration detention,” if elected president.
Not to be outdone in the next Dem debate one of them will advocate money for NASA to put a big sign on the moon that says, “Please Invade Earth.”
This is surrender to any and all people who want to take the US over. Our government is now nearing a complete failure. Good luck getting it back, my former Free Americans…
The dems advocate a generosity that is astounding. As long as it’s other people’s money.
They’re no longer even trying to disguise their contempt for our middle class as well as the country in general.
The candidates know they don’t stand a chance against Trump but they’re planting the seed in the public’s mind to reduce the shock when they get control again.
To a person they’re anarchists and want the complete overhaul of our government into their socialistic utopia.
It’s just amazing that the people responsible for this country’s uglier aspects are the same ones who’ve caused them.
The left has had incredible success at shifting blame for their irresponsible and damaging acts.
Just replace the Jackass with Marvin the Martian.
“Where’s the kaboom? There was supposed to be an earth-shattering kaboom!”
Dems want a lot of things, but they can’t have a lot of things!
A little late to the party, eh, jeh?
