Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) Makes Al Sharpton Respond For His Racist, Antisemitic, Homophobic Rhetoric

This puts Joe Scarborough in a tough spot. It was then-Congressman Joe’s resolution ‘Condemning the racist and anti-Semitic views’ of Sharpton that kick-started Rep. Gaetz’s questions.

Breitbart:

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) exposed Al Sharpton’s history of racist and antisemitic rhetoric on Thursday — doing so, in part, by relying on past complaints by Sharpton’s MSNBC colleague, Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough.

As Breitbart News has documented, Sharpton has a long record of using racist and antisemitic rhetoric. Many Jews blamed him for exacerbating mob violence against the Jewish community in New York in the 1990s.

More recently, Sharpton led protests against the 2012 death of black teenager Travyon Martin, which he and fellow activists cast as racially motivated, marking the beginning of a decline in race relations that has lasted several years.

On Thursday, Sharpton appeared before a congressional hearing at the House Judiciary Committee on policing practices. During his turn to question the witnesses, Gaetz referred to a resolution, H.Con.Res. 270, which then-Rep. Scarborough introduced in 2000.

The resolution was called, “Condemning the racist and anti-Semitic views of the Reverend Al Sharpton.” Though it was never voted on, it contains a list of offensive statements and actions by Sharpton, as follows: READ THEM

  1. Mourning Joe is officially in Deep Denial Mode about the Righteous Revrum Sharpton. Always has been. Always will be. It’s what makes all of Joe and Mika’s other observations and comments so notworthy.

  2. Even given the opportunity to call out Rectum Al like yesterday, this NEVER would have happened under W.

PRESIDENT Trump is showing how it’s done and many are following suit.

  3. I laughed out loud when Sharpton never denied calling whites “crackers.”

He really confirmed just how sympatico he is with the Democrats. All that concern over parliamentary rules regarding treatment of a witness. Precious.

  4. So, where is this clown show going? Any repercussions expected, or just another worthless congressional waste of taxpayer money investigation?

Anyone with even an 16th of a brain knows sharpton is a devil snake. Do we really need ANOTHER congressional waste of time investigation?

  5. @MM — Well, try to see it this way: Every time the Democrat majority stages one of these ridiculous dog and pony shows, they wind up exposing more of their anti-American characters. I like to think of it as the elastic failing in their dirty underwear. That’s how disgusting they are and yet we can’t help laughing at them. To me, it was worth the waste of money and time to watch Sharpton reveal, under sworn oath (FWIW), that he’s an “equal opportunity” bigot whom, by the way, the Democrats love and were forced to defend.

  6. The left Rev Al Sharpton is right! I have come to his point of view that America is racist and and therefore should not continue to expose captive and unhappy Africans to continued and ongoing discrimination, misery and suffering! I agree that the only solution to rectifying past sins is to atone for them by repatriating all blacks, living in America, back to their ancestral homes in Africa! Then and only then will America be free of its past ills! We need to immediately start loading the boats in order to carry out our great 21st century manifest destiny mission of returning multi-millions of Africans back to their proper homes!

  7. J Nad stopped the clock to his advantage, but kept it running for the Republicans.
J Nad should have had his words stricken and should have been reprimanded for his insulting reference to a distinguished congressman being obnoxious.
J Nad needs to be removed from the committee and from Congress.
SJL also piped in trying to destroy a distinguished republican member of the committee.

  8. I don’t know if this is true and I haven’t checked, but Geoff C. said that Nadler is a Jew. If so, do you think he felt a little conflicted about Sharpton’s quotes?
