Tesla’s Driverless Valet Feature (Smart Summon) is a Mess

Zero Hedge-

With Tesla releasing V10 of its vehicle software earlier this week, owners were chomping at the bit to get their hands on the long touted “Smart Summon” feature, which is supposed to allow drivers to summon their vehicles to them in parking lots using their cell phones.

But, as things go with Tesla, the idea of the idea was worlds away from the actual implementation of it. In fact, early customer videos and reports of the “feature” are making Smart Summon look extremely dangerous and nothing short of a complete disaster.

As soon as the software update pushed to drivers, videos began popping up on social media showing a litany of negative consequences of everyday users beta testing Smart Summon in real life.

  1. How fucking lazy do you have to be to not only, not want to drive your car, or park your car but also not want to walk to it?

  2. Stop putting iffy electronic and software in cars. If you can’t drive stay off the roads. Wait till salt and water creeps into the wiring or it travels into a thunder storm and lighting strikes screw it up, and see how many are hurt.

  3. I have no concerns about anyone who would buy a Tesla product. Info about this company and its products has been out there since the beginning. Separating fools from their $$$ is a gift.

    OTOH, I’m keeping my head on a swivel for Tesla silent-but-deadlies . . .

  4. I am so thankful that I have lived during the Ford manual transmission era (soon, apparently to be phased out over Auto trans, except for expensive muscle versions).

Us humans were manufactured by a Supreme Maker to WORK and accept responsibilities of life. That is what we were meant to be, in my Book. Otherwise, if all who came before us had AI (ay-eye) robots, we would not be here anymore.

Just bury me with a Ford manual transmission, one of the many marvels of our age.
