[…] He still cares about nature very much. But he thinks greenies like Extinction Rebellion are doing more harm than good.
I asked him what the red-pill moment was that made him see the light.

My advisor recently discovered a crude oil play that’s expected to generate approx. $1.5T revenue during the next 50 years. It looked like a real good investment, until I uncovered a few things: 1) The government (foreign, across the pond) is going to tax $900B of that $1.5T because of “climate change,” 2) They are going to invest over $300B in renewable energy sources during that time, 3) The PR department touts a few key employees who are millennials “age 30” who are excited to work for a company that’s so “responsible to climate change,” 4) All business operations will adhere to Paris climate accord, and 5) All dividend payments will be withheld 25% to fund climate change initiatives.
I barfed a little bit, called my advisor and told him to shuv it.
And what took and educated, ehem, SCIENTIST, person SO long to figure this out??
Money? He got RICH it sounds off of the rush to use these failed fuels.
Cue eye roll…IOTW Marilyn graphic…
About time! If it hadn’t been for the fake news reports about Three Mile Island and that Jane Fonda movie, the United States would be generating forty percent of its energy from safe nuclear power. More birds and bats would be alive and fewer landfills full of renewable trash would be blighting this country.
