San Francisco Blues (and browns, yellows…)

Daily Caller: San Francisco’s Poop Problem: 25,000 Reported Cases Of ‘Human Or Animal Waste’ In 10 Months, Data Show.

Daily Caller: The city is averaging more than 80 waste cases reported to the department every day in 2019 and is on pace to surpass last year’s number of excrement reports, the publicly available records show.

The department had more than 23,300 cases through the first 10 months of last year, which had already seen a sharp increase from 2017. The city government launched a $750,000 “poop patrol” in September 2018 to combat the problem, though that hasn’t stopped this year’s numbers from topping last year’s.

The city’s incoming district attorney, Chesa Boudin, pledged not to prosecute quality-of-life crimes including public urination. read more

  1. Should we start calling the homeless the “Untouchables”? Maybe India had the right idea all along.

Personally, I don’t want to go near the foul buggers. Most of them can blame themselves for their dire straits. At least in India, the Untouchables could not help their low station in life.

And, the SF homeless have ruined a great city, one that I will no longer visit.

  2. Why would he prosecute? IMO, the human equivalent to what is on the street in San Francisco that raised Chesa still stinks up the earth, too.
I think Chesa just has a soft spot for shit in all forms.

  3. San Francisco’s blues, browns, yellows…

    …don’t forget green (bile).

It’s the just the artful California ‘Rainbow Coalition’ on display.

Nothing to see smell step-on here.

  4. So, I wonder if the people walking their dogs are still getting tickets if they don’t pick up their dog’s poop? In L.A? San Francisco? On the beaches? All the prissy CA tourist spots?

  5. That place is way more screwed up than just feces on the street. I’ve lived in San Fran and LA, both Sodom and Gomorrah, and the number of things making them a complete dump could fill a large book.

  6. And yet tourist numbers keep increasing.

I think I am the only commenter that lives in the Bay Area. It has been about 15 years since I’ve been in The City. Now, stepping in people poop, getting assaulted by a squeegee bum and having the driver side window of your rental car smashed, all part of the tourist experience.

    > Yep. They sure do.

I wonder if it’s like the “car pool” lanes? If I’m walking my dog, xhe squats, so I drop trou and squat behind xer, can they prove it was xer, not me, that dooked that?

(Sure, it’s a crazy question, outside California. But we are talking California, here.)

  8. Starting Monday, in the interest of equity, the city of San Francisco will fine all citizens who are seen not defecating on our streets and sidewalks. Thank you in advance for your compliance.
