I was sitting in the grocery store parking lot listening to a local station that’s been playing Christmas music for the last month. Despite the icy walkways, high obstructing snow banks on every corner and the overly aggressive Minneapolis drivers in town for some last minute Christmas shopping, this song by Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sister made them all melt away.

Love that Hawaiian slack key tuning.
Foods all ready, the house is too, Mele Kalikimaka from me to you!
A perfect song to set the mood.
I’ve been listening to the “Holly” channel on sirius XM all month, great stuff from Nat King Cole, Johhny Mathis, Frank and Dean. But what has been a real treat is that I get to listen to contemporary stuff from artists I never heard of singing Christmas songs, folks like Kacey Musgraves, John Legend and Idina Menzel. Idina will send chills down your spine, what a talent.
Wonderful! Good old Bing.
Merry Christmas and happy new year.

Best to all,
Happy all things,,
XM’s Christmas channel Holly is playing this right now at 6:24 PM PST.
We always sang it as “Kumon Iwantolaya”.
@Molon Labe – The Griswald family Christmas Vacation is an annual ritual in my household. Old and dated, but never tire of it.
Haleloke Kahauolopua
Made this song famous when she was
part of the Arthur Godfrey show
Godfrey very minorly ” co-starred ”
in ALL her performances and recordings
and therefor
Collected just as much royalties as she did
although he did almost nothing to earn it.
Haleloke was one of the first to quit
Godfrey after his notorious on air
firing of Julius LaRosa
And that incident self destructed
Godfrey’s career.
