US to expel over a dozen Saudi trainees after review of NAS Pensacola shooting

WA Ex: The United States is poised to expel more than a dozen Saudi servicemen training at U.S. military installations following a review of last month’s shooting at the naval air station in Pensacola, Florida.

According to CNN, the trainees are not accused of aiding the shooter, a 21-year-old Saudi Air Force second lieutenant who killed three American sailors and wounded several others, but are said to have connections to extremist movements. Sources told the outlet that some are also accused of possessing child pornography.

Last month, Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani, a Saudi flight student, opened fire at the naval air station before he was killed by responding law enforcement officers. read more

  1. It’s a start.

    I guess.

Apparently the government is incapable of, or more likely, unwilling to learn basic lessons regarding who should be allowed in the country, not to mention who should receive military training. Especially pilot training.

  2. I would much rather hear that these guys had already been deported after being rousted in the middle of the night. It doesn’t seem wise to tell a bunch of muslims who have “connections to extremist movements”, and who are running around free, that they’re going to be kicked out.

  3. Our military has been training middle east pilots for years, going back to the Viet Nam war. My father was a helicopter instructor giving final check rides to certify that the students qualified as being combat ready pilots. He disliked most of the middle east students. They were all offspring of the Saudi king or his relatives, the Jordanian king/relatives, Syrian and Lebanese as well. Those few that were Christian assemilated well and were eager to obtain the skills necessary to become pilots, most of the Muslim students were pompous assholes, wanted to do their way and were poor students, even tho they all spoke exceptionally good english, the Muslims looked down on the Christian middle easterners and spoke to them as underlings. My father had several heated discussions with military superiors who disliked the fact that he would fluke the ME pilots at a higher % than the rest of the US military students, and refused to give them another final check ride, forcing them to have a military instructor to pass them. The ruling elitests were housed separately from the rest on base, or leased large homes for their entourages of servants/body guards, and the local bars soon learned that every fat, ugly skanks could make a lot of money going home with them, as they would all have sex w/whomever was stupid enough/needed the money to pull trains with them. Most real estate agents got to the point where they would only sell the homes to whomever needed the housing, as when they left the filth and destruction was overwhelming. My father retired in early 70’s, glad that he no longer had to be responsible for their failures, and would just be shaking his head as to where this has grown into. Most of them could not be trusted then, as now.

  4. @Txn4Evr – “…We train their pilots so their countries will buy our multi million dollar airplanes…”

As long as we leave out a few necessary critical technical skills. Ensures replacement purchases that way.

  5. After Mohammad Atta and his friends “did something”, civil flight training facilities have been on alert. So the Saudis have to rely on our military to train the next generation of terrorists.
