Prayer Request from PJ (Plain Jane) – IOTW Report

Prayer Request from PJ (Plain Jane)

“You can ask for prayers for Godโ€™s will to be done regarding treatment for cancer found on my brain, lymph nodes, and a few other areas. This could be a long haul. And donโ€™t forget prayer for the docs involved.

It wonโ€™t go away, but can go into remission.”

———————

LORD God, thank you for your Almighty love and grace in your sacrifice you have offered us. We know there is healing in your touch. We trust in your goodness as our Lord and Savior.

We ask for your mercy for our sister, PJ. You are our healer and friend. We ask that she will dwell within your gentle embrace. Amen.

  1. Do not look forward in fear to the changes in life; rather look to them with full hope that, as they arise, God, whose very own you are, will lead you safely through all things, and, when you cannot stand it, God will carry you in His arms.

Do not fear what may happen tomorrow. The same everlasting Father who cares for you today will take care of you then and every day. He will either shield you from suffering or will give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations.

  2. Not a club anyone seeks to join. I became a member in 2013 and went stage IV in 2014. Now working on my 5th year of NED. Hang tough PJ and fight daily. Attitude and much prayer coverage are the best weapons. Prayers being lifted right now and daily. God bless!

  3. Plain Jane. Although different, I had nothing short of a miracle healing a few years back. Even my doc said it was. So they do and still happen.

BE HEALED PLAIN JANE IN THE NAME OF THE NAZARENE…

  6. My 71 yo sis went to a the Hoxsey clinic in Tijuana after chemo tx fror uterine cancer. She returned with herbs and vitamins specific to her case. She has had remarkable progress and even her cancer doc is extremely surprised how well her body is responding. She says she feels great and her herbs and vitamins have gotten her stronger to where her body can heal faster. Of course she had lots of prayer from my wife and I and our family too. Her faith never wavered.

  7. PJ,
One does not need to know someone to ask for our Lord’s mercy, and also our most Holy Mary. My father always said to pray to Mary and she will help.
You will be at the top of my list tonight before I go to bed.

  8. PJ, we were in Mass this evening and YOU were WITH us.

For the Homily, the priest talked about our trust and faith in God. This he got from the Gospel itself (spoiler alert for tomorrow) which was about the trust and faith in following Jesus, as with those fishers’ of men, who gave up their professions to follow, as written by Matthew.

Be well and if you can, eat well.

  9. PlainJane, you are an iOwnTheWorld original. You’re a veteran and an all-star and, yes, I’ll say it, one of my all-time favorites.
    I have faith in you.
    Stay strong.
    You are loved.

  10. May the Lord bless and strengthen you, guide the minds and hands of your physicians, and complete your healing as the Ultimate Physician that He is, in accordance with His word.

“And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
    Luke 10:9

…Doctors train for many years and work very hard for their knowledge, and some do get offended when you thank God for your healing instead of them.

    The good ones do not.

A doctor’s talents are guven by God for God’s puposes, the will to learn, the ability to understand, indeed the very hands they raise to your healing, are given by God to work His will in the healing of His children.

It is right to thank God for your healing.

And so should your physician thank God for the opportunity to be His hands.

Rest in Him, trust in Him, have faith in Him as you have already professed to, and by his stripes will you be healed.

โ€œBut he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.โ€
    Isaiah 53:5

    God Bless,

  13. Dear Plane Jane, I was diagnosed with a rare cancer that was not curable in 2001. I was a stage 4 and not expected to survive. I told everyone I was sure I would survive and I finally went into remission. Eight years later I was diagnosed with Lymphoma and Leukemia. I was treated for Lymphoma and the following year I was diagnosed with Leukemia of the bone marrow, also a stage 4 cancer. I have always been optimistic, happy and looking forward as I just feel that I will continue to survive. Don’t be afraid, miracles happen every day, especially
when so many are praying for you. God Bless You.

  14. I will pray to St Padre Pio and I will Light a candle when I go to mass tomorrow. I know that prayers work they have saved me from a major medical issue that the doctors said that I had a 30% chance of surviving. May Cod bless you and keep you strong. Nothing is impossible with God’s love and prayers. Keep a positive attitude and Good bless

  15. Oh my goodness, I am overwhelmed. Love you all so much. Asking God to share all these prayer for those who have no one to pray for them. You are all like angels. Thank you and know you are all in my prayers.

  16. Not only praying for you personally, but my church family is mighty in their prayers. You have another 2 dozen prayer warriors added tomorrow morning. They will know about Plain Jane and how you touch hearts for healing them.

You make a difference, PJ. Thank you for being you.

  17. PJ, remember – “For I know the plans I have for you,โ€ declares the Lord, โ€œplans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
    Jeremiah 29:11
Let The True and Living God guide you to your victory over this health challenge. Trust and Believe His Word. Be Blessed, PJ (Plain Jane)

  19. Thank you all. I am really blown away by all your support and prayers. I am overwhelmed, and wish I could thank every one of you individually, but Iโ€™m too tired to try. DH keeps bugging me to shower and hit the sack.

Tomorrow is the day they make the radiation mask and do a trial run. Tuesday is up extremely, extremely early to drive downstate to the university hospital. Iโ€™m lined up the entire week.

Local docs put me on steroids to stop brain swelling. They have already made my bloood glucose raise out of control. Will most likely be put on diabetes pills. They also have me taking Memantine to protect my brain recall and acuity from the blasts of radiation.

Yes, I truly appreciate all your prayers. I have and will continue to ask God to please share these prayers for others who have no one to pray for them and for those who are trying to go it alone, without HIM.

  20. “I have and will continue to ask God to please share these prayers for others who have no one to pray for them and for those who are trying to go it alone, without HIM.”

Selfless in everything. Can I change my childhood wish? When I grow up, I want to be like PJ.

โ€œBut he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.โ€
    Isaiah 53:5

The older I get, the more I realize there are no stronger words to both condemn me and to liberate me. And to think, Isaiah really didn’t know what he was ultimately talking about.

“Lord, You know thereโ€™s nothing plain about Plain Jane. You know her heart and You hear our prayers. Let each of her coming days, months and years bring Glory to Your name and strength to all who face cancer.”

You did it again, my friend. If ever there were someone I could be sure “gets it”, it’s you. Time to raise another mountain.

  23. Now that I’ve gotten through the previous comments, and sputtered my initial words of shock, I’d like to offer something more collected, PJ.

While most people here I’ve found kind and insightful over the years, there are a few who stand out. For your wit and wisdom; your careful and thoughtful selection of words; your generosity and humility of spirit, you are special.

As you can see, my initial reaction is pure selfishness. But I am not like God. He sees far beyond my myopic predictions for the future, and far before my fragmented visions of the past, and far deeper than my supposed understanding of the present. I can’t say what His plans are, but I am persuaded that it’ll be perfect no matter the momentary result.

I am equally persuaded you already know this, but I’ll say it anyway: This life is but a short time. It’s the next that we strive for. Maybe I’m reading your words incorrectly, but I see no fear of death in them. In fact, what I see is confidence that, live or die, the Father’s will is your primary focus and concern. Additionally, I see the living evidence of the truth in:

    Matthew 22:36-40(NIV)
36 โ€œTeacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?โ€
37 Jesus replied: โ€œโ€˜Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.โ€™
38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
39 And the second is like it: โ€˜Love your neighbor as yourself.โ€™
40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.โ€

So my selfish desire is to keep you with us; I want to read more from you; much more! The words you’ve written here on IOTW have fundamentally changed the way I think and speak.

Nonetheless, not my will, but Thine, oh God.

(But if I may be so bold, Father, I really want her to stay.)

    7
  24. Oh Sturge, I am a very simple soul who gets her jollies by trying to be His hands and feet. I have a bit too much love for primping and clothing, one could say vanity for appearance, ๐Ÿ™‚ but He has a way of diminishing that as women age. Your words brought tears to my eyes.
Love you Sir. Onward we serve Him by serving others and raising them up.
