White House Responds To Criticisms From Attorney General Barr

Daily Wire: The Trump administration responded to criticisms from Attorney General William Barr on Thursday after Barr told ABC News that the president was making it “impossible” to do his job by constantly tweeting about the Department of Justice.

CBS News reporter Catherine Herridge reported that White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham made the following statement in response to Barr’s criticisms: “The President wasn’t bothered by the comments..he has the right, just like any American citizen, to publicly offer his opinions. #POTUS uses social media very effectively to fight for the American people…(and) has full faith and confidence in AG Barr.”

The remarks from the White House came in response to an interview that Barr gave to ABC News on Thursday where he said,  “I think it’s time to stop the tweeting about Department of Justice criminal cases.”

Barr said, “Public statements and tweets made about the department, about our people in the department, our men and women, about cases pending in the department, and about judges before whom we have cases, make it impossible for me to do my job and to assure the courts and the prosecutors in the department that we’re doing our work with integrity.”

“I am responsible for everything that happens in the department. But the thing I have the most responsibility for are the issues that are brought to me for decision and I will make those decisions based on what I think is the right thing to do, and I’m not going to be bullied, or influenced by anybody and I said at the whether it’s Congress, newspaper editorial boards, or the president,” Barr continued. “I’m going to do what I think is right and I cannot do my job here at the department with constant background commentary that undercuts me.” read more

  1. Barr is right. Trump should back off for now in the run up to Barr’s Congressional testimony. Everybody knows who the traitors are and a good deal of what they did. Name calling doesn’t help judges do their jobs.

Conservative Tree House has a good essay on this. They think Barr is going to crush the bad guys with his testimony.

  2. Trump endured two years of a dickless, recused AG because the deep state wouldn’t let Trump fire him. Trump made no bones about his disappointment with Sessions and his recusal.

If Barr wasn’t man enough to take his concerns about tweets to the President without rebuking him publicly, then he’s probably not man enough to resist calls for his recusal. I hope Trump is already looking for a new AG for his second term.

  3. I will reserve my judgement until after the election. It would be foolish for Barr to make any moves upon the deep state until that time as it could tilt public opinion away from supporting Trump as the media and the Dems would hammer him with propaganda. Second term should be when the hounds are unleashed.

  4. Barr was actually going to promote Judge Jessie Liu, thankfully Trump withdrew her appointment.
This is another of many examples of Barr’s cozy association with the deep state swamp dwellers.
Wait and see when Durham comes back and says he couldn’t find anything prosecutable during his investigation.
We’re being played, they’re dragging out the clock.

  5. Zonga, Barr did himself no favors by publicly admonishing his boss, instead of explaining his concerns and his strategy privately. If it is wise for Trump to restrain his commentary as a legal strategy, it is also wise for his AG to do so as well. Now Barr’s words have becoming a new subject in the upcoming testimony.

  6. How many more times do we need to hear justice is coming, Durham is a highly regarded investigator and heads will roll soon?

Barr is allowing people to be sent to prison who never should have been charged in the first place. That should be a clue.

  7. There’s a benefit to this contention between AG Barr and President Trump. It severely undermines the Dems’ and deep statists’ argument that there’s “collusion” between the two to go easy on Stone for political reasons, especially when you add in statements denying that the president told Barr to override the prosecutors’ insane sentencing recommendations.

Whether this is deliberate or not I can’t say, but I suspect that it may well be.

  8. Barr sends off mixed signals and has yet to prosecute
    the guilty coup gang.
Until he shows us he is putting the high level traitors in jail I will not trust him. The few that were caught red-
handed were not prosecuted. Flynn is still getting screwed over by the DOJ but just now Barr stepped in to control his deep state, out of control, reactionary lawers.
I am reserving judgement for a little while longer.
If he does not act soon to get these ppl charged for their crimes and tried, he is just another enemy of the Republic.

  9. Calm the fuck down!

President Trump’s tweets are entertaining, but for fuck’s sake! sometimes they’re a distraction. I know he uses them like a master conductor uses his baton to lead the orchestra of opposition into pits of foolishness and embarrassments, but, sometimes, discretion is the better part of valor.

And, as Uncle Al points out, this is akin to helping a fool look foolish. The hypocrisy of Obola and his sycophantic Demonrats will be on full display before the day is done.

  10. It’s hard to imagine a nation of 300,000,000 free people having much more patience for the lack of progress in bringing to justice the TRAITOROUS BASTARDS that are trying to bring this President and this nation down.

  11. I’m setting my sights much higher than AG Barr, even higher than POTUS Trump. I prayed for Divine Intervention in ’16 and got it. I’m going with the One who choreographed (and is still directing) every step of this dance. Much of it is only discerned in hindsight — as it has always been.

  12. “Now do you trust him?”

“3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.

5 Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God:”
(Psalm 146:3-5 King James Version (KJV))

No. Trust no one. Ever. Politicians are serpents. Which is one of the reasons we elected a NON-politician.
Barr has his uses. And President Trump is trying to make the most of them.

There is NO justice (terrestrial); you’re a fool if you expect any.
Hope for the best: Plan for the worst.

  13. Some of these swampers could have been indicted and prosecuted long ago, but there was always a Special Counsel, an Election Year, or an Impeachment going on which made prosecution of deepers problematic, according to Conventional Wisdom. Barr is obviously running out the clock, hoping to kick the can down the road for a Democrat to stomp on and rubbish. He will resign like Sessions if Trump wins. Same deal with Wray.

  14. Anon, if he keeps the senate and regains the house then yes, a hell of a lot more flexibility without endless investigations, hearings and fighting committee chairs and subpoenas.

  15. Barr is nothing but a reefer madness session 2.0

Once Trump wins reelection he should appoint a REAL american to AG like Ted Nugent. Mr. cat-scratch-fever would be serving up demoncrats heads on a platter to use as hog-bait for one of his charity hog-hunts by helicopter…LOL

  16. Maybe now that DOJ has announced no criminal prosecution will be pursued against Andrew McCabe Trump will really let loose on Twitter. He should ask exactly what Barr’s job is if not to pursue criminals.
Lou Dobbs is going to be on fire tonight!!

  17. Well, here you go:

DOJ Won’t Pursue Criminal Charges Against Former FBI Deputy Director McCabe:

Whatever Barr is up to, he’s dragging it out too long, and either emboldening the crazies of this country or he is just part of the swamp.

My biggest fear is Durham comes back with a “report” instead of a slew o indictments.

MANY people need to go to prison over this coup attempt. Hillary clinton needs to be brought to justice. So do biden, obama, pelosi, kerry and the like.

We’ll find our VERY shortly if Barr is one of ‘them’ or he is a true attorney general of the United States.

If we find out Barr is part of the problem, support PDJT like you’ve never supported him before, because things will explode.
