The inspector general for the EPA recently cited the agency for its inability to carry out its primary function of protecting the environment.
And if that isn’t enough, the IG revealed it has 142 cases of agency and contractor waste, fraud and misconduct ongoing. “Of the 142 open investigations, 75, or 53 percent, are fraud-related; and 42 cases, or 30 percent, involve employee misconduct,” the IG said.
Some of the investigations involve falsifying documents and forgery, misuse of government property by a non-employee and destruction of government property by a non-employee.
Why would anyone be surprised that a large bureaucracy has a number of corrupt employees? Make it worse by it being a government agency and unionized.
I know some people in various government agencies, and they are not all bad, but the nature of the beast attracts those that don’t want to do real work.
If congress and senators can commit crimes and go unpunished what’s to stop their minions from doing the same?
Now do the rest of the agency’s. Bet it would blow some minds. Want a job where you don’t have to do your job? Government!

Unless someone rolls up their sleeves and takes a meat axe to these bloated inefficient unaccountable mediocre federal agencies, the beat will go on. Been hearing about this corruption and underperformance for a long time. I hope trump makes cutting the size of these agencies a priority in term 2.
Sorry, Nixon is responsible for the creation of the Federal EPA. I’m pretty sure every state has duplicated this environmental monster. 50 times the waste and corruption.
Carter did many bad things, but Nixon’s EPA was not one of them. Maybe you’re thinking of Carter’s Department of Energy, extirpates.

and several other state agencies.I can tell you
they are useless and miserable.Nothing but a bunch of cubicle
squatting over paid key board peckers.They can’t
be bothered to actually come outside and see WTF
is going on…….

some 16,000 gubment drones.They never did
