The kids have AR15s, the Magpul UBR stock can be adjusted up short for them.
IMHO, there isn’t a better platform for kids once they want to shoot at longer ranges.
The 17 Hornet Contender that they shoot rockchucks with runs out of gas out past 225-250 yards. The hell of it is they have to have a hunting license to shoot rockchucks here in WA. My two little ones are chomping at the bit to join big sister in the field. They have to be content with going to the range for now.
My oldest is left eye dominant and the AR15 and Contender makes more sense than a right hand bolt gun, and besides her Contender 17 Hornet outshoots my 17 Hornet CZ 527. That is saying something.
They all have a lower w/Geiselle trigger and Magpul UBR stock and although they claim that they have some kind of birthright to any of my uppers (even if I happen to be using it at the time), for some reason that privilege is not reciprocal.

100 rounds aint shit, I shoot that out of my CZ 9mm in about ten minutes at the range. I also reload when you reload a new bullet you do step testing of grains of powder, seating depth, primers etc. You can make a 100 rounds of sets of 5 to 10 just to see which one shoots the best.
Why do we 100 rounds? Because there’s another 99 stupid, brain addled, pedophile, communist crooks out there, just like you Joe.
I take a case of 5,000 22 LR, five flats of 22 magnum, 1,800 rounds of 22 Hornet (because that I’ll the brass I have), eight hundred 17 Hornet (because that all the brass I have), a couple thousand rounds of 223, a hundred rounds or so each of 204 and 17 Rem, and four hundred or so Each 22-250 and 243 when I go to Montana to shoot prairie dogs for a week. I don’t come home with more than a brick or two of 22 LR and not much centerfire.
A hundred rounds pfffft, hell my first four magazines of 22 LR are gone before the first fifteen minutes is behind me if I am using one of the 10/22s. In our younger days we would load our backpacks with ammo and not stop to eat lunch and made fun of the old bastards who were wasting daylight. These days I think I get more out of watching the kids shoot (and keeping them from killing each other).
We would sleep in or under the truck in order to not waste any time driving into town and when we came in off the dog towns we smelled like a Goddamned Frenchman and the shower water looked like chocolate milk. My buddy’s dad was afraid we had completely lost our damn minds the first trip he went with us.
The number of rounds doesn’t matter.
