Another Pandemic Known as Social Justice

American Thinker: The National Association of Scholars (NAS) has produced a report titled “Social Justice Education in America.”  Written by David Randall, it defines, describes, and delineates many of the destructive and deceptive ideas behind the innocent-sounding social justice programs that have mushroomed in American institutions of higher learning.

According to this December 2019 report, “in the last twenty years, a generation of academics and administrators has transformed higher education into an engine of progressive political advocacy.”  Identity politics plays a major role in how social justice will be administered.  Social justice activists work to increase the “state’s coercive power” to decide who will get their fair share concerning employment, housing, income, health care, leisure, political power, property, social recognition, and wealth.

Consequently, social justice buzz words such as food justice, educational poverty, and health equity aim to increase state power “to tax the citizenry to fund progressive spending priorities.” If social justice warriors deem it, then any alleged privilege must be eliminated so that “identity groups defined by categories such as class, race, and gender” will not be oppressed.

To achieve their aims, universities are watering down requirements in order to attract more women and minorities. This portends “disastrous [repercussions] for scientific innovation and American competitiveness” not to mention the care of sick people. read more

  1. This sino-induced quarantine will shed light on how useless public schools are and just how little work your child does each day at the K-12 daycare. Close down the worthless government class schools

  2. I have never met an individual who identified as a modern day SJW that wasn’t an absolutely horrible person.

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”

    ― C. S. Lewis

    This quote:
The Urge to Save Humanity is Almost Always Only a False-Face for the Urge to Rule It.
    H.L. Mencken
Was never so applicable as when applied to these self identified saviors. Despicable doesn’t even come close to being strong enough.

  3. The results will be similar to those that happened in our police forces when they were forced to put women in positions that men were occupying and the shift from using personal physical force to control unruly but unarmed criminals shifted to using deadly force because the women were simply unable to exert enough physical force to subdue them.

Put the lesser or unqualified in positions where they really can’t adequately fulfill their expected responsibilities and you have to change something to make up for it.

  4. “… in the last twenty years,”

Read “Sartor Resartus” (Carlisle, 1836) or “Kirchengeschichte im Grundriss” (Sohm, 1867) to get an idea of how long “higher” education has been corrupting and polluting civilization. Even the “Academy” turned out youth who were considered baneful to Athenian society.
Those who infest the halls of Academia have ample time for idle contemplation – and fulfill it by trying to out-do each other in outrageousness of idea, imbecility of reason, and cupidity (Harvard, for example, with $40 Billion in Trust lays off cafeteria workers – whom they consider their dingleberries).

  5. And the result is unconstitutional ‘Affirmative Action’! Average to poor to mediocre qualifications given preference over better to higher to superior qualifications! We have since reaped the whirlwind with most organizations, especially public, filled to the brim with failures, and incompetents!

  6. Social “justice” warriors are maoist communist revolutionaries, America’s “red guard”, that were denied government jobs when Trump won the presidency. Under Hillary (or any future democrat president) they will become the enforcer/tattlers of society quick to force the government’s will upon any citizen they deem to be unworthy. This is why we must remain diligent and keep our arms.

  7. Years ago, I took a government economics course which essentially advocated that only the government could manage the economy. What was interesting about the professor and the students is that everyone of them believed that they would be part of the cabal that would determine the allocation of resources, and that everyone else would continue working hard to provide them with said resources.

An interesting experiment is to ask these people “how do you feel about not having any part in the government decision making process?” No one answered this question honestly; they still believe they will be part of the group in charge, or else part of a group living an idle life where someone else provides the goods. No one believes that they will be the ones working for nothing and being told what to do.

Capitalism is scary to these folks. Their goal is either to maintain the status quo for the wealthy ones, or attain power through government to advance their own status. They compete as hard as capitalists do, but their competition neither advances society nor helps anyone but themselves. They don’t want to build a better mousetrap – they just want to control where the existing mousetraps are put.
