Ohio gives restaurants the green light to resume dining this month

Washington Examiner- Restaurants in Ohio can resume outside dining on May 15 and in-restaurant dining on May 21, Gov. Mike DeWine announced on Thursday as part of his Responsible RestartOhio plan.

“We will partner with health departments in Ohio to focus owners and operators on strict adherence to the Administration’s requirements and recommended guidelines,” the Ohio Restaurant Association (ORA) said in a statement.

“With safety certified staff always on site for every shift and an already high emphasis on proper sanitation and hygiene, the restaurant industry is well prepared to lead the way on safety – employee safety, food safety and guest safety.”

Meanwhile, barbershops, hair salons, day spas and nail salons may reopen starting May 15, DeWine said. read more here

  1. Mean while the formerly free citizens across NY State are being held captive by a Constitutional violator – Mario Cuomo and the SCOTUS remains silent.

  2. A friend has been letting some of her 10 year customers eat in a hidden corner. No one has ratted her out. 2 kids in college and one at home she needs the money.

  3. My evil tyanical Gov Witless (piss in her vacant head) (did I say that?) extended house arrest until May 28th. Was out yesterday and other than restaurants (not doing take-out only), doctors! and hair salons, everything seems to be like a normal day in my county.

Just wish those who are closed would band together and all open on the same day. The police here in my county won’t do anything to stop them, but if they did it all across Michigan, what a great slap in the face it would be to that tyrant.

  4. Our governor changed her mind and instead of waiting until the 15th–restaurants. hair and nail salons, gyms are opening on Monday (at 50%). Retail stores have been open for a week.

  5. In spite of the mainstream media’s love of Governor DeWine lately, there are many of us Ohioans who feel his handling of the virus has been pathetic. He has basically given control to his UNELECTED Medical Director Amy Acton, an Obama fan and abortion fan. At first we were to close for two weeks so as not to overload the hospitals, then the goal post just kept getting moved by Acton, and okayed by DeWine. Neither will admit that their projections were WAAAAAAAAAY off, but just keep plodding ahead as though people are dying left and right. Yeah, the restaurants are opening – outside dining on May 15 and inside on May 21 (I think that’s the day, or close to it). Those dates are just arbitrary dates they pulled outa their anal cavities. They need to open the state up fully and NOW. Honest to Pete, I am so furious over the handling of this damned virus. I WILL NOT vote for DeWine next election. I hope he gets primaried but if not, I’ll just sit that election out.

  6. Aunt Liz, grew up in OH (NE near the lake). DeWine comes across as effeminate and controlled (my opinion). I dont know one family member that is happy with him.

  7. DaveVA, sadly we have a bunch of sheeple in Ohio these days, and they think the aptly described pajama-boyish and controlled (by Amy Acton) DeWine is great cause he’s keeping us “safe”. He’s killing the state and too many are happy to let him do it cause again “safety”.
