Britain is prepared to offer extended visa rights and a pathway to citizenship for almost three million Hong Kong residents in response to China’s push to impose national security legislation in the former British colony.
China’s parliament has approved a decision to go forward with national security legislation for Hong Kong that democracy activists, diplomats and some in the business world fear will jeopardize its semi-autonomous status and its role as a global financial hub.
Britain, the United States, Australia, Canada and the EU have all sharply criticized the move.
Foreign minister Dominic Raab said on Thursday that if Beijing went ahead, Britain would extend the rights of 350,000 ‘British National Overseas’ passport holders. more here

MJA: The Japanese conquered Hong Kong in 18 days following their attack on December 8, 1941. The British and Canadian soldiers who defended Hong Kong were needlessly sacrificed for the Empire. The Communist Chinese will do what ever they want to with Hong Kong, and there is absolutely nothing that the Western World can do to make them abide by any agreements they made in 1997.

I think the only way that China will release any grip is if we handle (we as in the entire world) China like a disease (lol) and drop trading low enough and move out manufacturing to other nations or better yet, back here, for them to bleed cash. The Communist who control China are stronger than any other time in their history, and they are more aggressive and determined to have their way with Asia and the United States. It reminds me of how the Imperial Japanese overplayed their hand in the years leading up to Pearl Harbor. How many Americans do you know who are willing to get involved in a nuclear war over Taiwan or those islands in the South China Sea?
We have to cut them off quickly. Like we should with Iran.
