Re ‘Florida woman tops 150 mph on motorcycle’: My sister co-owns a motorcycle ‘track days’ business. It started when her boyfriend (later her husband) bought a speed bike, and she convinced him to take it to the track rather than the streets where he almost certainly would end up in the hospital. He got her riding, bigger and bigger bikes. A few years ago she visited and we were having dinner with our parents. My mom, 80-ish at the time, asked about what bike she rode. Then she asked how fast Kathy went. ‘Up to 180 in the long straights, before braking into the turn’ she said. ‘Ah’, said mom.
That was after years of weaning our parents onto the idea of her racing.
Meanwhile, I haven’t been on a motorcycle since popping a wheelie inadvertently when I was about 10.

I haven’t been on a lawn mower in over 50 years. DH tried toshow me how to drive it way back then. The first thing I did was pop a wheelie with him trying to hold the thing down while screaming at me something about the clutch. Lolol
