Seattle’s Top Cop Says Don’t Look at Me, Abandoning Police Station Wasn’t My Idea

PJ Media: Just hours after the Seattle Police Union accused that city’s leaders of losing “all the political will to enforce the rule of law,” the police chief has had her say. It may be too late.

It’s not clear that Chief Carmen Best’s words on Thursday will do much to quell the anger the cops are feeling about being ordered by the chief to abandon the East Seattle Police Precinct on Monday. This was after two weeks of holding the line and being attacked by protesters.

They abandoned the building, allowing the violent protesters who’d been amassing there for days to take over the area surrounding it.

The subsequent village that has sprung up around it has taken on a “Lord of the Flies” air, with warlords, food theft, illegal ID requirements, and a protection and extortion racket. They’ve dubbed the area the “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone” (CHAZ), though it approximates a post-apocalyptic dystopia, albeit with really great coffee.

No cops are allowed. Armed protesters patrol the encampment.

The chief said nothing at the time, but claims now she didn’t agree with the decision to hand over the precinct to the mob.

No Seattle Cops, Just Thugs

Chief Best released a video (below) to her officers in which she said they were “family” in one of “the toughest times ever” in the history of the Seattle Police Department. She claimed that she was “angry” about it and didn’t care if anyone knows it – even Mayor Jenny Durkan, from whom the order came. MORE

  1. Federal Gov’t going after Assange and strongarming the UK to keep him in horrendous lockdown conditions in prison. Claiming he ‘encouraged’ a hacker to get gov’t docs.

Media, celebrities, and many politicians are now actively encouraging blma and antifa to engage in their criminality.
They are complicit and acomplices in blm/antifa crimes and must face the same judgement they are trying to force on ASsange.

We are going to need a very large prison.

  2. The police chief answers to the mayor. One of the two or both are responsible for the abandonment of the police station.

In most states the ranking law officer in the county or Parrish is the sheriff. That would be Mitzi Johanknecht. She and her wife, Maureen, have a grown daughter – that explains a lot.

    Seattle is doomed.

  3. And now the idiot mayor of Seattle is saying that the protestors are patriotic, gimme a friggin break. I always thought that being a patriot meant love of country, these anarchist assholes hate this country and everything it represents and are anything but patriots. Da mayor needs to be arrested by US Marshalls, bound and gagged, shackled and chained and frog marched out of her office along with all the other idiots including the Police Chief and that radical City Council ingrate woman who let the protesters into City Hall in the first place and anyone else who supports her dumbass policies. And the protesters need to be dealt with forcefully and removed from their so called Capitol Hill dystopia. Inslee should also be removed from office for impersonating the Governor.

  4. When the Left rises up it wins, either immediately or eventually, because it never gives up and never stops.

There is no way to prevent it, get ready to live with it.

  5. Black and female, 2 boxes checked. I don’t think she is Muslim, no headscarf, but if she is a Lesbian, Seattle wins the grievance sweepstakes.

The Seattle cops knew who they were working for going in, they knew the governor, mayor, and probably the police chief were turds and would never have their back or show real integrity, they chose to stay and become targets.

TBH, I’m jealous. For many many years, I could always brag that our, the Bay Area, crazies were crazier and more out of control then your crazies. We wrote the book on civil unrest, virtue signalling, rioting in the streets, and breaking things. Seattle out San Franciscan’ed us.

  6. “^^^Tokyo Rose at it again?”

I take it you don’t like to be told things you don’t want to hear.

So ….. how about showing different?

As in real examples, and ones from the real world?

I’ll be looking forward to it.

  7. @Anon – you go ahead and give up and learn to live with it then. I don’t have to “give up” and just let them have it. For now, conservatives are trying to let the Rule of Law take it’s course. The left is trying to drag us into a civil war. They may eventually get their wish.

Here’s one example for you. Pres Trump beat the chosen leftist lizard queen for president, even tho the left cheated and the media lied for them. So now the left and globalists are acting out. We have gone through upheavels before and come out the other side. Maybe you should go back and revisit some American history.

BTW – are there 2 Anons that post here, or just you as Anon, who sometimes sounds patriotic and at other times tells everyone we’ve already lost so just give up?

  8. A governmental show of force is exactly what these basement dwelling SOB’s want. Simply surround the zone with US marshals, seal off any subterranean access and establish a no fly zone. Nothing gets in and nobody gets out. Slimeballs wishing to surrender will be accepted for only one hour per day where they will be transported directly to Guantanamo for trial. Shit like this has to be answered with strength or more idiots will follow suit.
Governors, mayors and councilmen can be dealt with for formulating, aiding and assisting rebellion in due time.

  9. …police stations usually have holding cells and a variety of restraining devices…one wonders if you could see inside these cells today who is in them, are they being fed, if the persons illegally holding them will ever see justice, and if they’ve been turned into torture chambers and rape rooms yet as thugocracies invariably do with them, and how long these litteraly innocent will be left to suffer and perhaps die while liberal governments throw wet Kleenexes of blame at each other and the President outside…

  10. @Martin Looter King: You said: “We are going to need a very large prison.”

I say a bigger graveyard or crematorium. They can point all they want at Trump, people know it isn’t so. Doesn’t matter who they point at, it is what it is. Send in the Special Forces if they have to and take no prisoners.

  11. The mob’s should be encouraged to go after MicroSoft in Seattle. The image of a heavily armed BLM/Looter/Antifa mob damaging their buildings, occupying a few and setting fire to others would have the mayor and the chief out on their asses in seconds and a demand that the Guard be sent in with orders to shoot to kill any who resist. Master Gates will not fuss with this type of behavior if it threatens his domain.

  12. You shouldn’t take the job if your shoe size is two sizes two small for the requirements and the duties. Some one else will have to take the political heat now to do what should have been done before it went critical. Next time stop being used by the internet fools.

  13. The City of Seattle got the Chief they wanted, and it’s clear that they chose optics over qualifications. I’m sure that she and the Mayor are birds of a feather, no matter how much she squawks.

  14. Holding and controlling territory is hard, especially for people whose only talent is destruction. If I were the Soviet mayor, I’d give the Fascists twenty more blocks to hold.

—Future is female. Good job ladies. Looking good here. They should have been running things this whole time. That superior double x thing. They’re infallible, just like we’ve been told for 50 years now.

—First thing the leftist troublemakers do is establish a border and defend it with armed guards. Hmm…anything to that?

  16. One of the biggest laugh lines in “Wag the Dog” is “This is nothing!”

The hair-on-fire grannies who are too worried about this playpen’s flapdoodle, don’t know Seattle’s history. It’s been far, far worse on the streets of this skid road berg on the outermost fringe of the known world. These puppies who call themselves “autonomous” have no clue. So inured to modern living they demand porta potties and vegan oat bread! Too funny!

If they were truly militant they would have set up barricades around six city blocks of the financial district or high tech, right downtown. Instead they are occupying a soccer field and the back streets of Capitol Hill — and not even the high rent area. They’ve got “control” of a a soccer field that no one is using right now, a cop shop that mostly serves First Hill, the International District and the poor on Capitol Hill, and they’ve got no Targets, a few food trucks and some low-end, mostly take-out restaurants. That’s how militant they are?!

It’s pretty funny if you think about it for long. What they’ve built up there is essentially a prison for themselves. There are a lot of Seattle city blocks in the city of Seattle. There’s nothing they occupy that anyone actually needs. The cops just report in to a different precinct for the duration — that hasn’t been affected. These guys pull their shifts in their cars, not at the building, anyway.

They’ve penned themselves in. Something a lot of us have been wanting to do to them ourselves for quite some time. We didn’t have to lift a finger.

  17. Seattle’s police chief is a political hack. An Affirmative Action figurehead so that the limousine-liberal white racist Leftists on the City Council can point to her and say “we’re great; we’re Doing Something.” It’s virtue-signaling to the leftist masses; nothing more.

  18. This area is autonomous as long as people supply them with what they need. It reminds me of a Dragnet fron the ‘60’s where a bunch of hippies want to start their own “country” (by stealing what they need, of course). Friday and Gannon point out that they would starve by the end of their first year.

As for the chief: I pointed out in a comment a few days ago that in the cities that have big problems, officials are women, black, or both.
