Andrew Cuomo Rips Rep. Ocasio-Cortez Over ‘Factually Impossible’ Claims

In other words, Pot trashes Kettle.

Daily Caller: Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo ripped Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Tuesday after the congresswoman blamed rising crime rates on poverty.

Ocasio-Cortez blamed rising crime rates in New York City on residents struggling to pay rent, but Cuomo noted that evictions in the state have been paused amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“People have theories. An incorrect theory doesn’t wind up being correct because there’s a void,” Cuomo said. “I think there are a number of contributing factors.”

“It is factually impossible that somebody committed a crime so they could pay their rent,” the governor continued. “If you can’t pay your rent, you cannot be evicted right now.” more here

SNIP: Superficial arguments. Neither is addressing the fact that crime is up because of Cuomo’s and de Blasio’s restrictive management of the police and the harsh treatment of citizens due to burdensome Coronavirus regulations.

  1. They’re both dancing around this shit pile and pretending they don’t smell anything:

“New York City passed a budget earlier in July, which stripped $1 billion in funding from the New York Police Department (NYPD). Cuomo signed sweeping police reforms last month, which included a ban on police chokeholds, and a repeal of a law which kept disciplinary records of police officers secret.”

  2. When grabbing stories out of the air you need to coordinate them before you go to hard copy. Example is Cuomo blindly not checking with nursing homes before sending sick people to inadequate nursing home facilities.

  3. I doubt the current crime wave has anything to do with all the convicts who got a Covid get out of jail free card. Pretty sure they would be on their best behavior. Add to that the fact that NY ended cash bail so a criminal can walk out of jail the same day he entered, but that would not mean more crime. No, it is obvious the current crime wave is Trump’s fault.

  4. People committing crimes is never their fault is it. There is some flimsy social excuse to justify it. They are criminals because they want to be criminals, they’re scumbags. But when you need to play defense attorney for your voters, you get that sort of excuse-making.
