Walmart to Require All U.S. Customers Wear Masks – IOTW Report

Walmart to Require All U.S. Customers Wear Masks

Breitbart: Walmart announced that all of its U.S. locations will adopt mandatory mask requirements beginning next week.

“To help bring consistency across stores and clubs, we will require all shoppers to wear a face covering starting Monday, July 20,” Walmart U.S. COO Dacona Smith and Sam’s Club COO Lance de la Rosa wrote in an official blog post Wednesday. “This will give us time to inform customers and members of the changes, post signage and train associates on the new protocols.” They continued:

While we’re certainly not the first business to require face coverings, we know this is a simple step everyone can take for their safety and the safety of others in our facilities. According to the CDC, face coverings help decrease the spread of COVID-19, and because the virus can be spread by people who don’t have symptoms and don’t know they are infected, it’s critically important for everyone to wear a face covering in public and social distance.

To ensure the new policy is followed, Walmart is reducing to a single point of entry at all locations, under the watchful eye of company “health ambassadors.” These employees “will receive special training to help make the process as smooth as possible for customers,” they said. “The ambassadors, identifiable by their black polo shirt, will work with customers who show up at a store without a face covering to try and find a solution.”

Walmart also acknowledged that there will be special cases in which an exception may be necessary. “We know it may not be possible for everyone to wear a face covering,” they said. “Our associates will be trained on those exceptions to help reduce friction for the shopper and make the process as easy as possible for everyone.” more

  1. Face diapers have been mandatory at my local wallys for some time now. The employees don’t bother to enforce it. You’ll see at least half the customers uncovered on any given visit. Nobody says word one.

  2. I decided if I need to go to wallyworld, I’m going to mock the mask.
I have to go to the doctor tomorrow and although they didn’t tell me I had to wear one, I will carry one with- I just quickly made a see through lace mask out of a black bra. I cut the lining out, sewed the bra straps on it for ear loops and voila! A face thong! lol

  3. The so called company health ambassadors at my local wally world appear to be rent a cops. Oh goody, more low life’s in charge of security at wally world. I am so sick and tired of having to wear a damned mask every time I go into any business any more. Let’s get over this media contrived bs and get back to normal.

  4. “That money went straight to the DNC”

this is how the democrats have to collect campaign cash these days because they are batshit crazy and no one sane donates to batshit crazy and the insane really don’t have the cash or the smarts to run a campaign

it used to be known as protection money when the mob collected it

remember that line in all the old gangster flicks-
“that’s a nice little business or corporation you have there, it would be a shame if something happened to it”

  5. Considering this Chinese virus is proving less deadly than the normal annual flu, you have to wonder why Walmart (and other nationwide retailers) never required this policy during all other prior flu seasons?

  6. Do they specify what part of the body the mask must be worn on?

otoh, I live in a state where the governor last week joined the parade to require people to wear a mask if entering any store despite zero proof from any study that it helps even a smidgen to slow the spread of Wuhan virus. But he’s sure we’ll be in a world of hurt if we don’t.

  7. They’re already doing that in the next county over from me. The same corrupt county council that can’t run elections or handle finances w/o a scandal every couple of weeks mandated that crap 2 weeks ago. I stay away from Walmart 98% of the time but do go to Sam’s

  8. Federal law prohibits wearing a face covering while carrying a concealed firearm – so take advantage of your concealed carry permit- and carry! If the Blackshirts still won’t let you in, shake the dust from your feet and never return.

  9. I’ve been to two medical doctors in the last month. Neither required me to wear a mask. That’s all I need to know about all this bullshit. O R A N G E M A N B A D

  10. Yes, cases are on the rise in some areas. Young people with a mortality rate close to 0. Interesting that death rates are plummeting and yet now state governments and the lefty companies are requiring face masks every place.
    This is way beyond health.
This is about control and turning people into little brownshirts with the tattle portals online.

@NIdahocatholic, I carry and tell people I have a condition so can’t wear a mask. They don’t usually ask.

The federal law regarding conceal carry and face masks only applies to California and Illinois. Everyone else should get that issue cleared up by either their local sheriff or county DA.

On the flip side, it’s easier to be an armed, masked criminal in the other 48 states.

  12. “If you want your old life back you must submit.”

Seems we heard that way back in 2001 too. How’d that work out, have any of those changes ever been rescinded? Nope, they just keep expanding the Patriot Act into oblivion. F*ck The Uniparty.

  13. I will be LMFAO when all of a sudden ——wait! The huge increase in mask use is wait for it——-causing the huge spike in “cases”.
    Occams Razor.
I have never seen more people touching their ears, mouth, nose and eyes. Their hands are constantly dozens and dozens of times a day touching the very areas you get the infections from.

  14. This isn’t really Walmart it is the new line of attack to force us into mask compliance by the National Retail Federation. Clearly they’ve been co-opted by democrats who think it is a privilege for us to go into their stores instead of a privilege for them to earn my loyalty and patronage. Bizzaro world.

The president of the National Retail Federation trade group wants retailers to adopt a nationwide policy that requires customers to wear masks, and hopes Walmart’s decision to do so would galvanize other companies to take similar action, reports Reuters.

“Shopping in a store is a privilege, not a right. If a customer refuses to adhere to store policies, they are putting employees and other customers at undue risk,” the NRF says.

  15. Not all they are doing.
It seems they are getting special exemptions to the local fire safety codes also here in GA.

In Martinez, GA. Store Mgr.s closed 2 of the 3 main front entrances. Leaving the only entrance on the far right side of the store, which is as much as a 100 yards from the other side of the store.

That has to be a ADA and safety code violation
