The looting occurring in Chicago is “very scary and disturbing,” said local business owner Roupen Demirdjian on Tuesday.
“The streets are empty and this time of year hotels would be full and the streets would be full. The rioting and violence have stopped people from coming downtown,” Demirdjian told “America’s Newsroom.”
“We’re a big target down here. Business is terrible. The business has been terrible for eight months. We have January and February where we do nothing and then the COVID-19 shutdown and now this. It’s been challenging. But, we’re going to get through it.

Why would business be bad in the middle of a riot?

Will this all go away after the election? After seeing the good video of the total destruction of downtown NY, I have doubts that will recover in my lifetime. Chicago I can’t imagine it will recover either. Portland and Seattle seems there could be hope.
If the people didn’t want what is happening to be happening they would elect different leaders to change it instead of reelecting those who are overseeing it.
If I was not one of the protestors, why would I ever want to eat somewhere where every time the door opened I had to worry that it’s a bunch of protestors coming in to harass me and/or my dining companions?
What Chicago needs is very stringent gun control laws.
