Federalist – California Democrat Sen. Kamala Harris has officially re-entered the 2020 presidential race Tuesday after being tapped by Democratic nominee Joe Biden to run on the ticket this November.
It was just more than a year ago that Harris was mounting a competitive presidential bid of her own, surging as a top-tier candidate in the Democrat primary after ambushing Biden on the prime time debate stage, charging her new running mate as a racist segregationist. Watch that here.
In July, Harris entered the next debate as a principal target from Democratic rivals seeking to thwart her momentum in the crowded contest. Among the most notable moments to emerge from the event featured Hawaii Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard tearing into Harris’s record as California’s attorney general, highlighting her glaring hypocrisy over marijuana use.
“Senator Harris said she’s proud of her record as a prosecutor and that she’ll be a prosecutor president,” Gabbard said, “But I’m deeply concerned about this record.”
Gabbard continued, saying of Harris:
