RNC Has No Official Party Platform And NPR Is Very Upset About It

Out on my walk this morning and I happened to catch a discussion on the NPR program “On Point” about the lack of anything other than a declaration of support for the president for the Republican Party platform for this election season. Both the host, Meghna Chakabarti and her guest, Politico’s Tim Alberta, seemed in a bit of a panic over the realization they’ll have no means to try create division between the party and their candidate.

You may listen to their discussion and read their supporting material (including a link to Alberta’s article “The Grand Old Meltdown: What Happens When A Party Gives Up On Ideas?”) Here

  1. The Republicans have a platform alright but why let the Democrats know when all they will do is dismiss, smear and resist it.
Much more fun to hear them run their arrogant mouths as they hypothesize reasons for us not declaring it to the world. They should be talking about the Biden/Harris platform so clearly put forth at the DNC.

  2. “It’s important to realize that Frank Luntz has been the preeminent Republican Party messenger for the past generation.”

Whaaa? Has this clown Alberta not heard us talking about “Luntz’s Dunces” for the past twenty years? Luntz is a Bush Era DC Cocktail Party leftover, Tim. Not a good start for your pitch.

And we just watched—well, a few people watched—the Democrats spout four days of “Orange Man Bad” with nary a plank beneath their feet.

President Trump has announced his plans for the next four years. Go read that, and then come back when you are ready for class.
