Big Tech Company Reconsiders Relying on the SPLC After Hearing About Scandals, Terror Attack

PJM: Last week, the Big Tech fundraising company MobileCause abruptly canceled a years-long contract with the conservative Christian nonprofit the Family Research Council (FRC) exactly one hour before FRC’s planned “Pray Vote Stand” broadcast focused on the 2020 election. To justify its decision, MobileCause cited the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a scandal-plagued far-left smear factory with a history of branding Christian organizations “hate groups” due to their religious beliefs. The SPLC “hate group” smear against FRC inspired an attempted terrorist attack in 2012.

PJ Media reached out to MobileCause, asking why it relies on the SPLC. The company responded by saying it was not aware of the SPLC’s scandals and the terror attack. It told PJ Media it would reconsider relying on the SPLC.

“MobileCause has not only provided yet another example of big tech censorship but in their desperation to silence those they disagree with, they have now added religious discrimination to their portfolio,” FRC President Tony Perkins said in a statement. “Is it a coincidence that a big tech company pulled the plug on us one hour before the second installment of one of our most extensive evangelical voter education and mobilization efforts in this election cycle?”

Perkins charged that the company’s motives are “beyond obvious. MobileCause views evangelicals and conservatives as a political enemy that must be silenced, and so it timed its religious discrimination for maximum effect.”

MobileCause announced the abrupt termination of its FRC contract in an email FRC provided to PJ Media. more here

5 Comments on Big Tech Company Reconsiders Relying on the SPLC After Hearing About Scandals, Terror Attack

  1. I am not a big fan of Big tech companies. I don’t have an Alexa or a Siri or any other high tech snoop that spies on my every word move or action. And my damned computer is probably spying on me right now as I type this comment. Wasn’t the SPLC originally thought to be a Christian organization. Evidently they certainly aren’t anymore from the way they target Christians and others who disagree with their worldview.

  2. “Reconsider”……………….until the focus and attention goes away, then back to the same-ol’-same-ol’.
Nothing to see here, move along.

  3. There’s no way that MobileCause was unaware of the why the SPLC has a “hate” list. They’re lying. FRC and others should be suing MobileCause and others who hide behind their so-called reliance on the SPLC’s opinion. It’s just like GoFundMe taking down the accounts of conservatives and not letting them use their platform. I think this just happened with Aaron “Jay” Danielson’s friends and family, who moved their fundraising to a Christian-based platform (GiveSendGo).

Interesting: I had to Bing search the name of GiveSendGo with the inquiry “Christian-based fundraising platforms”. Guess which company was returned as a “top 12 Christian crowfunding platforms”? That’s right, MobileCause!

    Very interesting indeed.
