Portland woman accused of rioting faces both local and federal charges

PM: In the latest example of federal authorities ramping up efforts to hold Portland rioters accountable, a 29-year-old woman was arrested and federally charged for allegedly punching a Portland cop in the face during a riot in July.

According to Justice Department court documents, Laurielle Yvette Aviles, of Portland, assaulted a police officer in an attempt to de-arrest a fellow rioter on July 3. She was charged at the time by Portland Police and was released on her own recognizance. The Multnomah County District Attorney’s office announced this week that Aviles is charged with one count of felony riot, one count of attempted assault of a public safety officer, one count of resisting arrest and one count of interfering with a peace officer. Following an FBI investigation, she now also has a felony civil disorder charge.   more here

  1. “…faces a maxmum sentence of up to 5 years.”

I hate to be a downer on this good news, but why is a violent, felony-charged rioter even out on their own recognizance in the first place? NO BAIL? Good luck finding HIM.

  2. AbigailAdams, according to her bio she was in the Navy from ‘78 to ‘83 – five years. She was a 3rd class when she got out. That’s an E-4. After five years you should be a 2nd class – an E-5. That tells me she got busted down for some reason sometime in those five years.

I was in the Navy for ten years so I know what’s what.

  3. He looks like a bank robber from the early 1930’s. Like he’d be a member of Dillinger’s gang or Pretty Boy Floyd’s gang.

But instead, he’s a current day little queer puke. He’ll get slammed plenty when he’s in the Slammer.

  4. I think they are all professional gender pirates. Whatever suits their purpose at the moment. Look at me.
    I’m a pretty little girl
    I’m a strapping young dude.
Never mind that I always speak in a baritone and that I need a shave.

  5. An obvious case of gender appropriation. He’s in the same league of fraudulent imposters as Elizabeth Warren, Rachel Dolezal and most recently Jessica Krug. Their untreated mental illness, perhaps multiple personality disorder, needs attention.
