  1. Call me crazy, I live in the country with plenty of critters and there is no way I try to hand feed them. I’m not particularly thrilled when some deer become too eager to stand way too close when I toss out corn.

  2. We used to hand feed the Chipmunks and the Kaibab Squirrels up in the White Mountains all the time, we would actually bring 20lbs of peanuts every trip up there. It was fun and we got a kick out of it.

  3. That appears to be some sort of wee boomer. They are smart. Very much smarter that the smartest democrat. Jennifer and I came home from grocery shopping one day and found a dead boomer under the big truck. He was on his back, his teeth showing, and stiff as a board. I said, “The dogs killed the boomer!”

    Jennifer said, “Poor boomer!”

I picked up the fucking rat (to throw him in the burn barrel) and he woke up, writhed out of my hand, and disappeared into the cosmos.

  4. Emailed the video to a friend in Murmansk. He thinks it’s a squirrel species found in Siberia, fwiw.
Maybe his little brain got a shot of winter chilled blood that had been hiding in his tail all summer till it thawed out, and got brain freeze.

  5. There are goats who freeze and fall over as a survival mechanism (for the rest of the herd apparently). Possibly the same type of hardwired behavior to freeze stock still and not draw a predators attention.
