I laugh whenever I read someone from California tell of that states “bipartisan” commission for setting legislative district boundaries. Even though they call it “bipartisan,” that commission still is appointed by someone and California is still controlled by Democrats. While they may allow some Republicans on the commission, my bet is that those Republicans are the Golden State versions of Mitt Romney and John McCain.
