NY Times- “Chris is a registered Democrat in her 50s who lives in Manhattan. She’s well-educated, well-traveled and well-informed. She has voted for candidates of both parties over the years and was enthusiastic for Bernie Sanders in 2016. Chris is also gay. “Being a lesbian who’s voting for Trump is like coming out of the closet again,” she tells me. She cites the stock market bubble (best “since the internet boom of the late ’90s”). It was up 20% in the year before the pandemic.
The every day stuff that affects me. I don’t care about Afghanistan or the middle east. I care about having a job. I care about having health care through my copy. I was out of a job a few years ago. Obamacare priced me out of private health insurance. Then Obama’s website blew up. You can’t even get the website right?’ Then there’s the pandemic. ‘Is Trump trying to play it down?’ she asks. ‘Yeah. But when this first started the news media was saying millions of people were going to die. And look at it: 200,000 compared to the entire population.’
What worries her more are the affects of the response to the pandemic in a liberal city like New York. ‘Crime is in my city neighborhood now. There’s a homeless encampment near me that’s growing and growing. They have a living room and a shower curtain and that’s where they go to the bathroom. I have a guy who walks in front of the store every day in a diaper! And there’s lawlessness coming into the store every day with an attitude of ‘who’s going to stop me?’ Regarding Mayor Bill de Blasio she adds, ‘I can’t put into words how inept this guy is.’ Regarding Trump saying ‘grab em by the pu$$y’? ‘That didn’t bother me at all. For every cat out there, there’s equally a gold digger who will let you do it.’
Regarding the Kavanaugh nomination. ‘I didn’t believe Christine Blasey Ford for one second. Her lack of recollection. The fact that nobody could contemporaneously corroborate her account.’ Regarding Trump/Russia? ‘The Clinton’s fingerprints are all over this. I’m really glad we have Bill Barr as A.G. to look into it.’ On Biden/Harris: ‘Fifteen years ago maybe I would’ve voted for Biden but he’s weak. What did he do with his forty odd years in Washington?’ As for Kamala Harris, Chris dismisses her outright. ‘She doesn’t know what she believes. She wont’ be the adult in the room.’
Glad she’s voting for Trump but with that scattershot thinking she could have gone either way. She’s only dipped her toe in the water of logical judgement and gauging candidates. Maybe her head is still clearing.

Just was talking to an old friend in Denver-she’s immersed in a way left city working with 100% Biden supporters and in a blue state(face it CO ain’t purple) All she sees are Biden signs and she is rightfully scared to death that if he wins it’s really going to be Harris(it wouldn’t be, it’d be worse) running the show.
I told her it’s the exact same thing that went down in 2016-only with out ballot harvesting and mail in voting-so get a grip because Trump has expanded his base.
He’ll get a higher percentage of black and latino voters this time around. Also this time Trump is savvy to the scams and has his own army of lawyers. Every day brings forth more exposed voter fraud.
I read leftie sites a lot and the one thing is evident is they are petrified what will happen when Trump gets another term. There’s very little of the brass balls they displayed prior to Nov/16.

The Trump underground is a thing. I drive through the affluent, historically liberal neighborhoods in Nashville (eg: a bright blue dot in a deep red state) and there are a fraction of Biden signs compared to Hillary ones which themselves were a fraction of Obama ones).
I read the r/Nashville subreddit of Reddit and they talk openly about vandalizing people’s homes in Sylvan Park or other liberally self-segregated enclaves.
There isn’t an enthusiasm gap for Biden. There is no enthusiasm. It is only anti-Trump and all of them have been hurt by the capricious lockdowns their liberal mayor continues to enforce on their livelihoods.
In the collar counties, it is Trump in a landslide. If they don’t have a Trump sign, they have nothing and these are houses that would put up 3-4 different signs from President to local alderman every election.
@ MMinnAR – I live in a purplish state (Louisiana) and the ONLY Biden sign I have seen anywhere in several parishes was on the lawn of some house in the Lakeview district of NOLA on Sunday.
OTOH, I have seen hundreds of Trump lawn signs, flags, bumper stickers.
There was a Trump boat parade on the Northshore on Saturday. A sleepy little town like Madisonville mustered more than 200 boats flying Trump flags. If I had not gone fishing instead, I would have gone Full Satire and decorated my little piece of shit skiff as a Biden Boat, with pathetic cardboard signs in crayon, saying stuff like “Gimme Free Shit”, “Socialism Uber Alles!”, “Demand Post-Birth Abortion Rights”….you know, shit like that.
Rural TX is definitely all in for Trump. Driving from Helotes to Bandera Sat.; not a single peepads & kneepads sign anywhere.
Scores of Trump signs, plus a car rally and a motorcycle rally.
Like my friend said, pretty cool to be surrounded by like-minded people.
