  1. Howard Zinn was a commie, he along with one of notorious Berrigan brothers went to N. Vietnam during the war (just like Hanoi Jane) to protest against this countries involvement in fighting communism. Fortunately I never had to read his traitorous American history book (and never will), thank God.

  2. When I think of Zinn I also think of this Jeff Daniels speech, from some movie I never saw. People have shared this speech, oohing and aahing over how profound it is. No, it isn’t. But the delivery is with such authority that people eat it up – and even believe the words.

A few years ago I was working for a rather successful guy, a prominent speaker (so you’d think he knew something about delivery). He hired a new guy to run one of his companies. The new guy fired off a boilerplate email with lots of businessy words, demanding a bunch of information. The owner’s response, literally: “Oh my God I think I’m in love.”

Yeah, it’s easy to get a lot people to accept pretty much anything you say, if you say it with authority (and not permit rebuttal). And then they point at others and talk about allowing bad people to take control through the inaction of others.

  3. A history of what the left does when it has ultimate power in a country was already written. It’s called The Gulag Archipelago. If you’ve never read that book, I highly recommend the abridged version of it. The accounts in there paint the picture of what leftist power is all about, paranoia, thievery, sadism, and horrendous injustice.

Did you know that after beating the Germans back in WWII, many Soviet army officers got sent to the gulags on the way back home, simply because some NKVD shitbag had an arrest quota to fill, and the returning servicemen were conveniently available? Can you imaging serving such a shitty and ungrateful society as that?

  4. My daughter in Nashville requested that I send my 3 volumes of The Gulag Archipelago to hers so she can read them. I am also sending her a bunch of other books as well for my son in law and 2 granddaughters as well. I told her when you read a Russian name which are harder than hell to figure out and pronounce just to skip over it, she’ll get the gist of it. Russian names are almost as bad as all the begats in the Old Testament of who was the father of who and so forth.

  5. Will Hunting wasn’t the genius he and others thought he was when he believed Howard Zinn’s History would knock your socks of. Maybe he had deep insights into math, but hadn’t a real clue about history or how to self analyze it correctly.
