Less Than A Third Of Republicans Would Stay If President Trump Formed New Party

The Hill

Nearly half of Republicans say they would abandon the party as it is currently structured and join a new party if former President Trump was its leader, according to a new poll released Sunday.

A Suffolk University-USA Today poll found that 46 percent of Republicans said they would abandon the GOP and join the Trump party if the former president decided to create one. Only 27 percent said they would stay with the GOP, with the remainder indicating they would be undecided.

“We feel like Republicans don’t fight enough for us, and we all see Donald Trump fighting for us as hard as he can, every single day,” a Republican and small-business owner from Milwaukee told the newspaper. “But then you have establishment Republicans who just agree with establishment Democrats and everything, and they don’t ever push back.” More

  1. Trump keeps his promises. Oh, and Trump keeps his promises. Then there is Trump keeps his promises.

If he isn’t able to deliver at the very least you know he kept his promise to do his best.

  2. If Donald Trump were to never do another thing I would still owe him more respect than all other so called conservative politicians combined. He fought for us and he took a lot of incoming fire for us. A lot of it was “friendly fire” if you want to be so naïve as to consider back stabbing, snake in the grass Republican establishment types friendly that is.

  3. Either third party OR he works to permanently drive out the squishy GOPe RINOs like Romney, Bush, Cheney, Ryan, McConnell, and yes, even Graham. I think the second option would be better, unless the third party can bring in many of those Democrats who feel abandoned by their now left-wing party.

  5. He came into Washington DC far more naïve regarding the capacity for treachery than I thought he would given his experience as a developer in New York City and many other shitholes run by corrupt politicians around the world.

He done got schooled. When he reemerges he will be unchained from the Republican establishment and…

I’m thinking that the lesson has been learned and we are going to see a lean mean fighting machine the likes of which the world hasn’t seen since George Patton.

He is going to go through the Republican establishment like shit through a goose. He’s not just going to shoot the bastards, He’s going to rip out their living goddamned guts and use them to grease the treads of his tanks. He’s going to murder those lousy eRepublican cocksuckers by the bushel-fucking-basket.

  6. Democrats don’t kill off their party when dealing with traitors they just get rid of them.

Why do Republicans abandon the party instead of ridding it of kicking RINOs and Democrat infiltrators to the curb?
It weakens the political conservative mandate if you splinter the platform into different parties.

The doctrine of the Republican party is solid. Conservatism springs from the Republican party doctine.
Why not expand on that and include President Trump’s perspectives/vision, instead of getting rid of a powerful political foundation.

Sure, I personally, would vote for President Trump even if he changes his mind and creates a new party.

However, I will remain a Republican because I support the principles which reflect Constitutional principles.

There are just too many of them. – Dr. Tar

What good is a party that doesn’t follow its’ principles?

  8. The party IS its principles which have not changed. They are still viable. The RINOs and Democrats in the party are the problem.

Like a cancer, traitors to the Republican party must be destroyed by continuing to expose thier agenda and effect. Why kill the patient? Get rid of the cancer.

  9. Too much Chicom black money and blackmail in DC to allow a true America Firster to win again. They will do everything in their power to have DJT in jail or dead as soon as possible.

  10. Rove/Bush still hard at work! When Ronny left (’89 for youngsters) between 38% and 44% of Americans, poll average of 41%, were Republican. Only 15% Independent! When Don ran only 16% said Republican, 40% independent. No one has worked harder to destroy the GOP than GWB + Karl Marx! They both have hated Ronny since “Voo Doo Econ”! That, for the young, is 41 years of blue hot hate! Ronny personified the GOP from ’80 to ’16; so by extension they hate Republicans; other than the radical left:”Snarling” McC, Mitt….

Many GOP want to be conservative. The “leaders” went to be, and as Barry said 61 years ago, have been since 1905, radical leftists -yes you Karl Marx!-. The votes and deeds of many GOPe have shown with great clarity that GOPe are: at best radical left; at worst Stalinists!

  11. Dr. Tar, really?! What would stop traitors from infitrating and overwhelming a new conservative party. Nothing.

Authentic Republicans need to stand their ground. The Republican party is worth fighting for.

  12. “There’s a difference between principals being professed and principals being practiced.”

Exactly, that’s why RINOs and Democrats need to be removed from the Republican party. They don’t support the party’s principles.

  13. Trump leads, I’ll follow. My states republican party is chock-full of former democrats. My senators and one congressman are ALL rinos. The party in SD is corrupt and rotten, and i would have zero regrets leaving it.

  14. @Uncle Al: After the election, I registered as an Independent and I will remain that way until something better comes along. I’m done with the Republicans at both the national and local levels. The two Congressmen we have now are as worthless as tits on a boar.

  15. You gotta fire everybody and get a fresh, non-swamp start. That won’t happen in the GOP. Start fresh, with a new party and vet the hell out of people coming into the innards.

First firing: that intelegenic milquetoast rona romney. There hasn’t been a chair of the GOP woth a shit in 40 years.
