“Mallard Fillmore” Canceled After Criticism Of White House Occupant And Transgenders In Women’s Sports

post in trend

The conservative comic strip “Mallard Fillmore” has been plucked.

Bruce Tinsley, creator of the 27-year-old cartoon, said he was told this week by his syndication company that Gannett newspapers across the country simultaneously dropped the comic over two strips critical of President Biden and transgender participation in women’s sports. More

Tinsley was really laying down some hurt on the left in recent days. Here and Here

They’re claiming they lost the strip syndication, Here

  1. My local Ganett owned paper offers 3 months of online access for $1. Thats $1 more than what its worth. They don’t even print the paper here anymore. All the journalists(?) submit their articles online and the paper is printed 60 miles away in Flint. But they donoffer the weekly Shopper for free which litters all our roads and sidewalks throughout the city. I’ve had to dislodge many of them from customers snowblower augers every winter. You call and tell them you do not want it but they deliver it anyway.

  2. I got the local rag (that I don’t want or pay for) jammed in my snowblower one year… not fun! I got on the horn and told them DO NOT deliver it to my house, but if they absolutley have to make sure they arent throwing it in the driveway or sidewalk or they’re gonna get a repair bill!!

  3. My mother subscribes to a Gannet-owned paper (Amarillo). That POS is an extremely biased paper (guess against which side). Of course, their source for non-local news is the Associated Press and USA Today (I believe). Their editorial page is the only part that seems to have a slight balance (they used to have Michele Malkin there). When I visit her I only glance at the first page, do a quick check of the editorial page, and then read the cartoons. When she passes cancelling that subscription will be one of the first things I do.

  4. So are Dilbert and Pearls Before Swine and reprints of the Far Side next to go because the left has no sense of humor? And boy oh boy would they shit kittens if Pogo and Little Abner were still in print. And forget Popeye, EC Segar’s original Popeye from the late 20’s to the mid 30’s when EC Segar died from leukemia are still as funny as hell and totally politically incorrect. I have the total collection of all the EC Segar Popeye books, all 6 volumes.

  5. In 5 more years, there won’t be ANY “newspapers.” Most of ’em print… what: once or twice a week now? 😳

He’ll have a BIGGER audience through a website!

  6. Is anyone left working for Gannett?

Lady my mother is lifelong friends with worked for Gannett for 30 years. Scabbed against the Detroit strike in the 90s. Her daughter followed in her footsteps and was one of their HR Managers for more than a decade. They would fly her all over the country to lay people off.

She recently quit because she was so tired and depressed knowing that every day consisted of just firing people day after day. Go to a new city. Layoff a bunch of people. That was the job.

Working for that paper meant she was/is a big liberal. Must be depressing firing brothers and sisters in the struggle. Seems like a job I would like. Walk in. Fire a bunch of liberals. Tell them to learn to code.

Missed opportunity, Gannett. I would love to fire all of your employees. You can find me on LinkedIn.

How a conservative comic like Mallard Fillmore lasted this long I will never know.
