UK Watchdog Group States No Proof “Deradicalisation Programmes” Work

“No one knows” if a deradicalisation programme for Islamist inmates and convicted terrorists works, admitted the government’s watchdog for terror laws.

The findings come in a report published on Tuesday by Jonathan Hall QC, the independent reviewer of terrorism legislation, which revealed that “no one knows” whether the Desistance and Disengagement Programmes (DDP) are effective at achieving “rehabilitation, reintegration with mainstream society, or long-term deterrence” from radical activity as there is no “systematic evaluation” of the programmes.   1. Who would have ever guessed?

    From someone who has taken a close look at the “deradicalization” curriculum it impressed him as nothing more than teaching a sense of moral superiority, inculcating a sense of injustice and stoking resentment with a window dressing of addressing radicalization in a bad light.

    In other words these impressed him as nothing more than progressive movement recruiting centers dressed up as the exact opposite.

    FWWIW, the guy is the owner of a middle eastern restaurant and member of the local Rotary club and a devout Muslim who was educated in clinical psychology before immigrating to America in the 1970s.
