Kiersten Hening, a former Virginia Tech women’s soccer player, just sued her former coach for benching her and ‘forcing her off the team’ because she refused to kneel during a pregame demonstration last September.

In her lawsuit, Hening said she “supports social justice and believes that black lives matter” but that she “does not support BLM the organization.” Hening said she had a fundamental disagreement with Black Lives Matter’s “tactics and core tenets of its mission statement, including defunding the police.”

Hening said during the pregame reading of a “unity statement” on Sept. 12, 2020, many of her teammates took a knee. She said she remained standing and  was “verbally attacked” by her coach Charles Adair at halftime. more

  1. This is going to be very very hard to prove in court. I doubt she has any of the conversations on tape so she will need sworn statements from some team mates linking the behavior to the demotion, corroboration of actual statements made by the coach that others heard where he said he was benching her for her standing.

Since coaches are paid to win, if she was so good, why was she benched? She would not be the first athlete that started one year but lost a step in the off season, skills deteriorated and the coach wanted to play better players.

I want to hear his side of the story. Sorry, but believe all women is not evidence and is not probative in determining an action.

  2. If she’s a “soccer star” she doesn’t get benched. The coaches ass is on the line for wins and losses. My money is on her being a whiney bitch…..but a correct whiney bitch….

The coach should be fired for allowing ANY of the team to kneel….For God’s sake, It’s the National Anthem…

  3. Bullying has been an arrow in the leftist quiver since at least the 1960’s when my teachers had everyone cowed into parroting the Marxist line or be marginalized. It was about the age of ten the first time I responded by saying: I don’t care what anyone else thinks of me, that shrinks to insignificance when compared to what I think about me.
