JFK was inaugurated a couple of months before I was born. My parents voted for him and always told me about their remembrances of him. As I look at his statements and actions, he would definitely be a Republican in the current environment (my opinion).
Lest we forget, a large part of the election centered around him being a Roman Catholic and how (almost) scandalous that was.
I am not a Catholic, but as I grew up, I did listen to much of what he said, including his inauguration speech. I am comfortable in saying that the current ruling class (mostly democrat, but includes many of the repubs) would denounce his sentiments in a second if the woke and race elites pressured them.

Democrats have fallen out of the Overton window.

Thanks for another opportunity to observe that the political party that elected President John F. Kennedy has more in common with Lee Harvey Oswald’s Communist Party than the Democrat he assassinated in Dallas, Texas.

I agree. I could make the argument that JFK was more conservative and Republican than the Bushes. I do not agree with everything he said, but since I have less than 2 years of JFK to compare to 4 years of either Bush, I will take the debate, even if I cannot be as convincing.

Was this before or after he was boinking Marylin Monroe?
(Remember – somebody else wrote this speech for him)

I got to meet him on my 12th birthday on his campaign tour thru Calif.

@Jethro – yes. However, he had to deliver it. He had the final say. He wasn’t a doddering old fool that cannot even walk up a flight of stairs or cannot remember that he put his mask in his pocket. All presidents have speechwriters because they do have more important things to do than worry about the phrasing, or specific words. Yes, they are politicians and should be able to identify those things, but I want them concentrating more on the business of running an oversized bureaucracy than writing speeches.
I do think that Joey learned from “his president”. “I can say and do anything because I am the President”. Unfortunately for Joey B, Obumbles really was the first black President. I am only going to use the African American, or any xxx American, phrase in passing.
We are Americans. If you want to put your history in it, put it on the end, though that wouldn’t make a lot of sense either, which is my point. I am an American-European (Irish, Scottish, English, German). I do have a family tree that include the Pilgrims and the Mayflower, the Trail of Tears, the Dalton gang, etc. Am I proud of all of those? No, But I am proud that both sides of my family have been Americans for at least the last 4 generations, and on some branches to pre-American times. This only means that I am an American, for better, or for worse (I believe and am convinced for the better). Our country has done am much, or more, than any other country to end racism, bring people together, allow people to truly be involved in elections, etc.
D@mn it, another rant. I will need to take a time out for a few days. Have a good weekend and a good week.

@Roger F, rant all you want. It’s understood by many who feel the same way. I wasn’t born yet but I never really had much respect for JFK with his wife and young children being around knowing his involvement and his brother, Bobby’s with Marilyn Monroe. THEN JFK and Bobby both killed and then Marilyn Monroe kills herself. A little to much of a coincidence for me. So I never really paid him much attention until the past year and half. AND yes he was real and he wanted to protect what he knew THEY were trying to take away, hence he never lived long enough to stop them. So now all of our voices have to.
Pray everyday.
God Bless us all.

@Mary Hatch – are you saying I am old? OK, fine, I admit it. Older than many, younger than some 🙂
Marilyn gets all of the publicity because of her stardom. I do enjoy a some of her movies, but I do not think she is a good actress. Having said that, I will admit that I have had a poster of her. She has been in some very good movies. I just do not think she is a good actress. Agree, or disagree let’s debate.
I no longer have those pictures and that poster. I have met someone, who I think surpasses Norma Jean. Many may not agree, but beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. I encourage the “utes” (Joe Pesci – My Cousin Vinny) to make their own decisions.

I’ve had more than a passing interest in the politics of the Kennedys. And in the moral turpitude of their entire family.
Just reject about 99.5% of what you think your opinion of JFK is about whether or not he was a sincere Catholic. It was a concern at the time, but not the greatest one. And his time in politics and office would make the Clintons look like choir kids.
The lies and cover-ups of the Kennedys would make a very intersting thread, starting with JKF. Anyone seen the release of all the documents related to his assassination? You haven’t. They still haven’t ALL been released or un-redacted.

Oh RogerF, STOP. Nobody is old. I meant I was born just after his death so I missed the world turning upside down at that time and I missed seeing Marilyn Monroe perform in movies. And yes, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

Hey, you should have saved that poster 😉
