Senate defense budget bill would require women to register for draft

NYP: A Senate panel’s newly approved defense budget includes a provision requiring women to register for the draft.

Changes to the draft, officially known as the Selective Service System, were made official in the National Defense Authorization Act, the annual military budget bill, which the Senate Armed Services Committee announced it had approved Thursday.

The NDAA “amends the Military Selective Service Act to require the registration of women for Selective Service,” a summary of the bill reads.

The US military has not instituted a draft since the Vietnam War, and Pentagon officials have repeatedly said they intend to keep US armed forces all-volunteer. more

  1. What about all those other LSMFT***&&& trans-rational psychotic mofos?
Will they have to register, too?
What about illegal alien invading rat-people?

    I’m confused!

  2. I’ve always said that if the govt. ever tried to draft my daughters (now too old for the draft) or now especially my granddaughters that I would fight them tooth and nail for even thinking up such a stupid idea. I would highly encourage my granddaughters and other young women of their age cohort to evade the draft with any means possible. Women are not meant to be in combat, support roles yes but not to become cannon fodder like their male counterparts. If they did draft women it should be Rush’s fabled All American Amazon Brigade strictly composed of bull dykes and lesbians and trannies who think they’re women. I am very protective of my daughters and granddaughters and will fight anyone to death if they were ever to implement such a cockamamie idea. I hate the left, it’s beyond absurd as well as antilife for these assholes to even propose such a stupid idea.

  3. It should require that only women, perverts, and minority men should register for the draft! White men have spilled enough blood making, protecting and improving this country since its founding!

  4. It’s because if they had to implement a draft, there are too many antifa-type soy-boy leftist pussies who are too afraid of micro aggressions and pop-tart-shaped guns to make up a real fighting force.

  5. Hey, someone is gonna say it, I’ll fall on my sword.

Somebody gotsa make all those sammiches for the troops.

Those women who have liberal arts degrees and are trainable will have marketable experience for the rest of their lives.
At least the military will get benefit of Mommy and Daddy’s $450,000 bill for your liberal assed, useless Berkeley education.

  6. I’m with @Bob, though I’m opposed to the draft itself (it’s that pesky Amendmend XIII). The govt doesn’t differentiate between types of people whose rights they violate in any other areas, so why do so when imposing involuntary servitude?

  7. “Anything you can do, I can do better!”

    Men and women are equal.

I don’t agree with the draft, it should be abolished. But I am approaching 50 years old, and my entire life I have been taught that men and women were at least equal, and for the last 25 years, I have been told that women were superior.

If that is the case, end selective service, or make them register too. Sorry Geof, I don’t my daughter drafted either, but this bullshit has to stop at some point.

  8. When the ERA was being touted back in the late 60s, early 70s, my friends and I were thought it was ridiculous they wanted “equality” but didn’t want the draft.

Then you’ll never be equal, sweetie pie. Get in line for Vietnam, please – or shut up.

  9. Nixon ended the draft just before the 72 Presidential election. I was in the last age cohort of 19 years old’s who were eligible to be drafted that year. None of my brothers who are younger than me between 1 and 5 years younger were ever subject to the draft, they still had to register for Selective Service though. And isn’t the term Selective Service another typical gobbledygook/gibberish govt. oxymoron. It’s not like you had much of a choice in being selected to serve in the military when there was a draft.

  10. Although no one has been drafted since 1973, there still is a US Selective Service System which consists of regions with state directors with reserve and national guard officers serving in units keeping up on reserve training, working with recruiting offices (the area offices), SS Board Members (trained volunteers who would handle appeals), distributing PSA material, etc. I was a Selecive Service reserve officer my last several years of reserve service. I was USAFR but we were joint service units.
    Interesting work.
