Oregon Suspends High School Graduation Standards To Make ‘Equitable’ Rules For ‘Students Of Color’

There is nothing more racist than a white progressive who thinks they are being “race sensitive” by saying POC can’t compete or succeed on a particular playing field.

Oregon Governor Kate Brown (D) signed a bill last month suspending proficiency requirements for high school graduates for the next five years.

Brown quietly signed into a law a bill suspending her states proficiency requirements on July 14.

Oregon’s proficiency requirements mandate that all high school graduates demonstrate a roughly 10th grade level competence in reading, writing, and math.

The Oregon education system has recently increased efforts to fight “racism” within Oregon high schools and education standards. In February, the Oregon Department of Education sent out a guide to educators that claimed that asking students to show their work is an example of “white supremacy.”

“White supremacy culture infiltrates math classrooms in everyday teacher actions,” the guide said. “Coupled with the beliefs that underlie these actions, they perpetuate educational harm on Black, Latinx, and multilingual students, denying them full access to the world of mathematics.”

The guide claimed that respect for the written word is a hallmark of white supremacy. The guide also claimed that asking students to show their work is a “crutch” teachers use to avoid understanding how their students are thinking.

The guide also warned educators against marking answers as “right and wrong” in subjects such as mathematics, saying that such claims of objectivity are white supremacist.

“The concept of mathematics being purely objective is unequivocally false, and teaching it is even much less so,” the guide reads. “Upholding the idea that there are always right and wrong answers perpetuate objectivity.”

  1. Didn’t something like occur elsewhere then the almighty state was having problems problems at college level dropouts and couldn’t figure out why. Then some 15# head said “maybe it was when we lowered standards and no ne gave a shit we kinda opened the door”. No one saw Rome falling either. This story is quite familiar, just can’t place the when or where it happened before.

  2. Nice. Nothing like lowering the bar to the lowest common denominator. Oh, sorry there goes my white supremacy math instincts. And where are parents of POCs? They are basically saying your kids are idiots and hopeless.

  3. No standards or metrics to account for whether or not union members are doing their jobs. What’s next, the auto industry? This isn’t about kids and their ability to read, write and do math. This is about the gov’t forcing us to pay for — and live with — an inferior product. Brown just signed a blank check for the teachers and skool administrator unions. It’s called money laundering anywhere else. They’ve been working toward this tax-payer fed ATM utopia for a long time. Why waste time pretending anymore?

If you still have people you love going to gov’t skools, get them out. Now.

  4. They’ve done the same thing with people running for office. Just look at what we have got now and people vote over and over for them. Well, we think, but can’t be sure, actual real people vote for them.

  5. Between lack of standards and a mad rush to have POC jobs everywhere, we’re going to see car, airplane, train, and bus crashes legitimized for equity. They show up high as a kite to their overpaid affirmative action hire because fair-paid sober work is white supremacy and start plowing shit to smithereens with a literal licence to kill.

  6. The libtard parts of Oregon and Washington (Portland, Seattle etc.) were Californicated back in the 60’s and 70’s and now have become the bastard step child of all the madness that started in California. I almost wrote Potland in for Portland because that’s what it’s become.

  7. Just wait until the standards are relaxed to the point that these graduates become teachers.

President Camacho is just an inevitability. I’ve said before that I can see AOC being elected president. She’d win the state of Oregon for certain. To Oregonians she’ll be a savant.

  8. Tell me again that the Liberal Common Core teaching wasn’t a tactic for dumbing down the next generation so that they are little more than functional idiots that can’t figure out how much time it takes for a car to go one mile at 60MPH.
