Somebody’s Lying. Is it Abbott or Biden?

Texas Governor Says White House Reversed Course in Border Crossing Closures.

NTD: Texas Gov. Greg Abbott shut down six ports of entry with Mexico amid a surge of illegal immigrants trying to cross into the United States in recent months. However, hours later, Abbott said that the Biden administration changed course and decided against closing down the border crossing areas.

“I have directed the Department of Public Safety and the Texas National Guard to surge personnel and vehicles to shut down six points of entry along the southern border to stop these caravans from overrunning our state,” said Abbott, a Republican, in a statement to news outlets on Thursday.

But Abbott later said that the decision was reversed by the federal government.

“Six hours after the U.S. Customs and Border Protection requested help from Texas to close ports of entry and secure the border, the Biden Administration has now flip-flopped to a different strategy that abandons border security and instead makes it easier for people to cross illegally and for cartels to exploit the border,” the governor said in a statement to news outlets. “The Biden Administration is in complete disarray and is handling the border crisis as badly as the evacuations from Afghanistan,” Abbott said.

It’s not clear what ports of entry were shuttered by Abbott’s order. The Epoch Times has contacted Abbott’s office and CBP for comment.

Dennis Smith, a CBP spokesman, said the agency has received no directive from the federal government to close ports of entry. MORE

  1. One thing is for sure, Jackass Joe is crazier than a bed bug so who knows what he’s likely to pull out of his… sleeve!

And one thing remains true, there is no excuse for the federal govt to be attacking individual states over anything that benefits the people or the country!

  2. Once again, Governor, NULLIFY Federal involvement and do what is necessary to protect your State and its citizens! The Federal Government does not own Texas nor does it have the right to put it at risk under any law.

Either that, or get the fuck out.

  3. I’m sorry but I don’t need the Federal government telling me to not stop someone from entering my house!!! Let’s just say I have an attention getter for those who might contemplate.

  4. Well known fact that Texas doesn’t want federal help. So he got himself a new city being stubborn. It’s all his, he bought the farm on this.
Of course little boys love pointing the finger in a different direction when shit hits the fan. So whats the name of your new city, gov?

  5. Beachmom, in a word, no, they do not. Have not since the 1930s.

State’s local militia (clearly identified in the U.S. Constitution, which State Governors did indeed run) were successfully suborned via a succession of National Guard legislation, which eventually, shortly after WWI, culminated in the complete absorption of all states’ militia into a federal force, only nominally, parsimoniously loaned out to Governors for limited state use.

Each state has a military chain of command for it’s National Guard: the State Adjutants General, who is subordinate to the National Guard Bureau in Washington DC, itself subordinate to the U.S. Department of Defense, which in turn, is Constitutionally subordinate to the Office of the President of the United States.

If Abbott were to miraculously grow a pair and call up the TX National Guard to truly deal with the border invasion (not merely a token assist/enable of various federal law enforcement efforts), the entity controlling the DC Executive would immediately Federalize the Guard, then use it to continue the current White House cabal agenda. It’s been done before.

Neither the National Guard, nor the various individual state’s State Guard, are Constitutional Militia. Abbott need’s to issue a call-up of the Texas Militia, as allowed for in both the U.S. and TX Constitutions. He will not. It will fall, now as with the nation’s founding, down to the county level where local jurisdictions… Commissioners, and Sheriffs… lay a call up levy within their communities and then join together, not just for other Texas counties, but those Militia of other states, in manning the line at the southern border and defending our states and nation from foreign invasion, and those enemy the Constitution and our oaths so clearly identify.

I’m not holding my breath on that one, either.
