  1. Like my Mini.

Don’t let the soulful widdle girl look fool you. If you messed with her Mama, she would take you apart at the ankles for real. She had full-sized boxers and pits that would not cross her. I don’t know what it was, but no matter what dog or human was involved, she was Da Boss…

Thanks again for the gorgeous portrait, BFH.

RIP Mini. May you keep the ankles of the Lord well protected until we meet again.

  2. Chihuahuas are the first to yap at you and the first to bite your ankle. They were W.C. Fields worst enemy.

The obnoxious little bug-eyed snappers must have a Napoleon complex.

  3. This was adorable and the cat one from General Malaise would be the one to stay away from

“Big dogs don’t scare me too much. It’s chihuahuas. They’re vicious.”

As someone who goes into people’s homes for a living, I agree that Chihuahuas are the most likely to snap, bite, or nip you. But scared? ahhahah! No way.

What are they going to do, attack my ankles to get me to fall down so they can go for my throat?

In the homes, I usually acknowledge the ferocity of these little ones, but I follow it up with: ‘But, who cares?’

Chow-chows, on the other hand, NOPE. Not even going to give them a slight chance at me.

Gimmie pit bulls all day every day. I send selfies to the people who tell me to be careful of their mean dogs. We both be smiling for the camera with my arm around them. Sometimes I send a video of playing fetch with them.

  4. If all you’re looking for in a watchdog is something that makes a lot of noise a chihuahua is a good choice. We get stuck dog sitting a chihuahua every now and then and that darn thing will make a bunch of noise.

  5. Agree with Dadof4. I go into homes all the time. Dogs everywhere. When I come home my dog hangs out a banner that says WELCOME HOME CHEATER.

And I have only ever been bitten once, by a chihuahua.

The pitties are dah biggest and bestest babies evah and once they know you’re not going to hurt their humans they get all gooey and wiggly and are a straight up gift from God.

  6. Growing up, we had two dogs. One was a Beagle/Dachshund mix, the other a German Shepherd. The German Shepherd was a slobbering lovey. The only harm she would do was to lick you to death. The Beagle/Dachshund was smart and fierce if any of us kids were approached by a stranger. She even scared me when she did that!

I have friends with all kinds of dogs, big and small. I usually end up on the floor playing with them. One friend had a little Affenpinscher. I taught her how to howl. Good thing my friend thought it was funny!
