Did The U.S. Marines Really Get ‘Crushed’ By The Royal Marines?

1945– British media reported last week that their Royal Marines “dominated” an October war game in California against a unit of the U.S. Marine Corps. But is that what really happened?

The Royal Marines reportedly did leverage some effective unconventional tactics like wearing U.S. uniforms and using store-bought scanners to listen in on American communications. The training was supposed to test unconventional tactics, so the Royal Marines did an excellent job in that respect. But U.S. Marines say there was no evidence of a “surrender.”

  1. The Air Force is working on Maternity flight suits and hosting drag shows, the Navy is busy burning up its ships and colliding with other ships, the Army has Vindman and Milley, so the Marines had to be slagged for something, even if it was complete bullshit.

  2. I would suspect that the U.S. Marine Corps was distracted trying to get their livers in shape for their 246th Birthday Celebration which was more important than playing games with the BLOODY LIMEY’S!

  3. I tend to give the U.S. Marines a little more credit than the so-called ‘journalists’.
I think there would have been a much different outcome had the U.S. Marines actually played for keeps.

  4. Look not to take away from the Brits because they are actually highly effective Soldiers but actual exercises and their actual results are highly classified.

I do this for a living and I can tell you it’s a dandy story but that’s all it is.

  5. I don’t know if it’s still the case, but when the Royal Marines were ordered to take women and fags they said “Fine. But the Standards remain.” And, at that point, some years ago, no women had passed their stringent Standards (fags, of course, are simply a fact of life in Britain – comprising such a great percentage of British manhood – and have always served in the Armed Forces).
