Disney Pulls Infomercial For Its “Star Wars Galactic Cruiser Experience” After One Day

The Direct

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser was an experience that promised a “journey further into a Star Wars adventure than you ever dreamed possible.” Fans would have the opportunity to enjoy exotic galactic cuisine, plot secret missions with characters onboard, train with lightsabers, or even jump on a transport to the planet Batuu.

The catch? Well, the Westworld-like experience costs roughly $6,000 for two nights [bold added]. That’s a lot of dough, but could it be worth it?

Disney Parks recently released a new inside look at Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, one which generated quite the buzz, just not the kind that the Mouse House wanted… More

Note: The Direct piece has imbedded a YouTube video that captured the full trailer half way down the article.

Alternatively, you can get a good sample of the sarcasm heaped upon Disney by watching this clip from the reborn G4 program “Attack of the Show.” Here

According to the official website, “Voyages begin March 1, 2022.”

  1. The short ad is very deceptive. The wife and child appear to actually be excited to hang out with the nerd husband and his Star War groupie friends. That could only happen in a galaxy far, far away.

  2. Race mixing, again.

I’m all for people marrying whoever they choose regardless of
color, but there’s a dangerous agenda behind ads like this. You know it, I know it.

  3. “G4 program “Attack of the Show.””

Watching pretentious insufferable woke hipsters ridiculing a pretentious insufferable woke hipster company who wants to gouge other pretentious insufferable woke hipsters out of 6 grand. There is nobody in this story worth caring about.

  4. Oh that was embarrassing.
I didn’t know Attack of the Show was still on.
    Used to love that show.
    Except for Olivia Munn.

Disney like most entertainment companies has no more imagination.
Disney is an overpriced pedophile harboring mess.

They relaunched themselves online with Pereira anchoring AOTS and Sessler hosting X-Play a few weeks ago. It’s an acquired taste, I guess. I enjoy the low budget/ seat of the pants feel and sometimes they’re on stories ignored by other outlets. – Dr. Tar

    > accidentally “sit” on a pog

That’s porg. Why wouldn’t autocorrect understand “sitting on a porg”? It’s perfectly normal. In Disney Star Wars.

  6. Young me dreamt of something like this. Old me is sad about what they’ve done to the Star Wars of my youth. Millennials ruin everything.

We made Leia/Luke/Han outfits and built blasters out of cardboard, paint and electrical tape. We’d play StarWars-playing tag with our fake guns. My friends’ brothers were the stormtroopers. Today, 3 girls dressing like boy characters would mean we wanted to be trans. Nope, kids being kids. Not that complicated.

  7. How can a normal family of 4 (and far more if you have more than 2 kids) even afford to go to Disneyland or Disney World any more? When I went to Disneyland the Saturday after Thanksgiving in 1972 after I had graduated from Navy boot camp it cost us $20 to go. Disney has screwed the pooch and killed the golden goose by charging outrageous prices for cheap thrills. I don’t do anything Disney anymore, they suck!

  8. Disneyland isn’t just a place, it’s a place in time. Thay time is long gone.
Those of you who grew up and lived in Orange County during its greatness, and remember ‘E’tickets and sub $5.00 admission, among other things, know what I mean.
