Santa Fe DA Warns ‘Criminally Culpable’ Charge Still Possible in ‘Rust’ Shooting After Alec Baldwin ABC Interview

Breitbart: During his sit-down interview with George Stephanopoulos this past Thursday, actor Alec Baldwin said it is “highly unlikely” he will face criminal charges over the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins; the district attorney, however, has not ruled those charges out.

“I’ve spoken to the sheriff’s department multiple times,” Baldwin said. “I don’t have anything to hide.”

On Friday, First Judicial District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies clarified that it is still very possible for Alec Baldwin to be “criminally culpable” in Hutchins’ death depending on what the investigation yields.

“Certain individuals may be criminally culpable for his/her actions and/or inactions on the set of Rust,” Carmack-Altwies told Deadline.

Carmack-Altwies asserted that she will “exercise my prosecutorial discretion to its fullest, including filing charges that are supported by probable cause.”

The district attorney further clarified that “everyone” handling firearms on the set of Rust had a duty to follow safety protocols. more

  1. You have more faith than I do, LCD.
I think the DA has ZERO plans to do a damn thing.
He’s just trying to appear like he may charge him.
I would wager a C-note no charges come.

Only thing to go forward against Baldwin will be serious civil suits.
The surviving guy he shot will get paid as well.

  2. Baldwin pulled the hammer back and Baldwin pulled the trigger. I don’t know in what order; either way it would result in BANG!

There are some theoretical ways that the particular revolver he had could fire without pulling the trigger, but they are so extremely unlikely that they don’t interfere with concluding 𝐛𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐭 that Baldwin acted so recklessly that he’s guilty of a homicide crime of some level.

  3. For Baldwin, worst case – convicted of misdemeanor improper handling, sentence commuted if he agrees to make anti-gun PSAs and donate to an anti gun group.

No more than that, maybe nothing. Dude was stupid enough to go on TV tho, so they have to at LEAST slap his wrist…

  4. It was unfortunate, negligent, and stupid. It was not intentional. That doesn’t negate the culpability of it though. He thinks that just because he didn’t mean to hurt her he is not guilty. Wrong, and I hope he serves time.

  5. I stand behind Alec…cause I’m damn sure not going to stand in front of him.

POS is going to walk, with the puff piece making him look like the victim. Slap on the wrist and probation…if Hollywood celebs even do probation. Pisses me off, because that I can’t stand that asshole.

  6. This idjit is so vain he either didn’t talk with a lawyer, or he ignored the lawyer. Never, ever, say anything in public that can be used against you prior to pending litigation.
If he does have a lawyer and the lawyer told him to do the interview, is her name Hillary? And if so, did he offend her?

  7. I wonder how much pressure is on the DA’s office to go easy on Baldwin, not because he’s innocent, but so that other Hollywood degenerates will feel comfortable filming their projects Santa Fe?

  8. Have you ever seen that movie The Edge starring Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin? Baldwin played a real piece of shit, cowardly Futher Mucker. A totally worthless individual with no redeeming characteristics. Well he wasn’t acting. That’s him.
We should dig up that DA’s email and start a campaign.

  9. All I know is that if I shot someone the same way, I’d have been put in jail that night and I’d still be there until my very harsh changes were adjudicated in a very backed up court system and a string of continuances that I’d have to sell my house to pay the lawyer for, and I’d STILL go to prison for a decade or two.

And never be invited to do an interview about how it was the gun’s fault.

…apparently, “equal justice” means “equal among your CLASS…

  10. Wouldn’t you think that what Baldwin did would have been completely caught on the video recording? He made it sound like they wanted detail in the video. Cocking the hammer and pulling the trigger should have been clear by his description of the instructions he was getting.

  11. His finger touched the trigger.
    He`s a fuckin LIAR.
Any SAA made in recent times has a Safety the will not let the hammer drop from FULL or Half Cocked unless the Trigger is also depressed.

I highly doubt they were using a real antique made before the trigger safety was made mandatory.

    But I could be wrong…

  12. from Alec’s Twitter account:
“I wonder how it must feel to wrongfully kill someone…”

    Now you know Mother-Fucker!
    🖕
and to think, if he had just moved to canada back when he promised he would, this would not have happened.
