Smollett Guilty on Every Count – Except one

Jury finds Jussie Smollett guilty of staging hate crime against himself

  • The jury deliberated for about two hours Wednesday but broke for the day without reaching a verdict.
  • They are expected to resume deliberations Thursday as long as all 12 jurors have arrived at court by 10:15 a.m. ET.
  • In his closing, special prosecutor Dan Webb said Smollett caused Chicago police to spend enormous resources investigating an alleged crime that they now believe is fake.

A jury finds Jussie Smollett guilty on first five counts and not guilty on last one

The jury found Smollett guilty on the first five counts and not guilty on the last one after a contentious week of witness testimony, counsel arguments and deliberation.

Jussie Smollett has been found guilty on five counts of felony disorderly conduct by a Chicago jury for making false reports to police that he was the victim of a hate crime in January 2019.

Smollett was also acquitted on one count of felony disorderly conduct.

Smollett took the stand and testified before the jury that he never lied to police and denied orchestrating the attack on himself.

Prosecutors sought to show that the former “Empire” actor made false reports to police after paying Olabinjo and Abimbola Osundairo to carry out a staged hate crime attack against him to garner sympathetic media coverage.

A disorderly conduct charge for a false crime report is a Class 4 felony and punishable by up to three years in prison and a $25,000 fine. Cook County Judge James Linn will have discretion in imposing a concurrent or consecutive sentence for each count at a later date.

  1. Awesome graphic! Well done!

The only problem is, the iotwreport signature is too easily removable. You need to watermark this across his suit so you get credit when it goes viral.

  2. Wow his career path just broadened. He could join a liberal news organization, he could be a politician, a professor at a liberal college, or just wait a few months, and Hollywood will welcome him back with open arms.

  3. Alright, everyone, here is your black robe, you are now the judge in this matter. What sentence do you deem appropriate? You can use fines and/or jail time and let’s stipulate to concurrent not consecutive parameters. Think about first, nothing crazy, what say you?

  4. He should do as many hours in stir as the Chicago police had to waste on proving him a liar. He should be fine to the amount spent by the Chicago PD and the court system for dealing with his lying.

  5. I didn’t follow the case and did not hear the testimony so I can’t be the judge. But I can make my guesses on what the punishment will be.

18 months behind bars with the option for early release after 6 months if good behavior is exhibited. It won’t be in prison, it will not be a country club prison but something in between. It should be a psychiatric prison but that’s not going to happen.

Repayment of costs incurred by LE (greatly reduced after extensive bargaining by the attorneys involved) but we all know that it will never be payed off. After release, 24 months of community service and there will be little to no supervision of same, so answering the phone or sweeping floors at Chicago area bath houses will suffice.

There is little sense in trying to make an example of him. The reason being that he exhibited the same type of behavior that we see with regularity from the far left. Absent what they suspect is happening, suspect will happen or suspect could happen, they fabricate it out of thin air and shout if from the rooftops. Juicy just took it a step or two farther than most.

If you think I am condoning any of what I’ve outlined above, you’d be mistaken.

  6. @Danger

He can’t give him the MOH but he can give him the civilian equivalent Medal Of Freedom,”For calling attention to our national scourge of systemic racism (even though you lied about the entire encounter, no matter, racism exists regardless) for being selfless in pursuit of equity and for sacrificing your career for the greater good of standing up for black men everywhere, I present our nation’s highest honor. You are indeed a role model and a hero to us all”.

I would tabulate every single man-hour wasted by the Chicago PD then add to it all court costs and all expenses incurred by the city. Whatever that amounted to, that would be the fine.

As for jail time, I read the other day that the max the judge could give him if concurrent is 3 years. Factoring in this being his first offense, I would give him one year in jail. The one year is important because anything more than that would be prison and there are pretty cushy low-security prions he could go to. But jail time means he has to serve his time in the scummy dirty Cook County jail, at least that is how I understand it.

  7. 3 years.

Carried the Lie right up to the last second while police could have been serving the very Black Community he claims to represent.

    ASSHOLE!

  8. @Sam Todd: “Did anyone stop to think Jussie most likely is legally insane?

He obviously does not have the mental awareness to know what is right and what is wrong.”

I strongly disagree. This conniving motherfucker knew EXACTLY what he was doing. He did this for personal gain with the addition of increasing racial strife in society. So desperate to be a victim and claim that status he victimized himself. Fuck this asshole and his twisted agenda.

  9. If I was the judge, I would take into consideration that Smollett’s primary “tool” was to smear white people as stereotypical KKK-like terrorists and that, had he been successful, he could have sparked additional violent protests in which innocent people would lose life, limb and/or property. I still think this is absolutely true for every riot ever caused by BLM. In fact, Smollett tried at one point to generate common cause with BLM in order to strengthen his tower of lies.

If he serves any time at all, it will be minimal and reduced by his earlier plea deal with Foxx, in which he performed “community service” for the Rainbow Push Coalition. Yup, Foxx threw the book at him.

  10. ….and as for the two Nigerian brothers, I would make no bones of the threat of immediate deportation if they so much as thought of ever again getting involved in anything remotely breaking the law.

I’m angry that people come to our country and commit crimes against our citizens, especially those who should be the most grateful to be here. They should be very ashamed of themselves.

  11. I don’t suppose apologizing to Trump and his supporters would be in order?
He did attack Trump supporters in his hoax, how is that not a hate crime? Were we not victims?
Not that I like the idea of hate crimes.
Severe penalties would go a lone ways to putting an end to this nonsense. If it cost him little it will continue.
Also just how many hours do the Chicago PD spend on average per murder and what is the success rate of finding the murderer?
3,000 hours spent on this beat himself up hoax. Man, they could have checked a lot of garage doors rope pulls with those kind of hours.

  12. Brown Eyed Girl — Yes, except the Chicago poice department should have to reimburse about half of that, since they knew it was a hoax closer to the beginning of their investigations.

(And Meuller et al should reimburse us for the $40MM they spent trying to pin Russian collusion on Trump.)

  13. Couple of really great tweets on Twitter:

    1. Congratulations to Jussie Smollett, the only North American to successfully scam a Nigerian.

    2. Jussie Smollett’s attacker, Jussie Smollett, finally gets justice.

  14. Don’t worry about Smollett’s future, post conviction. I hear he already has several movie projects in mind; remakes of 1997’s “Liar, Liar” and 2019’s “The Good Liar!” He’s also looking at a return to TV with remakes of “To Tell the Truth” and “Truth or Consequences!” He’ll be just fine. And if those don’t pan out, he can always bunk with his buddies, the Obama’s, or even Oprah!

Cops needed those hours to investigate the Real criminal in Chitcago – Mayor googlyeyes!

  16. Juicey Smuggette has had his “close up” moment. It won’t matter to him what sentencing he’ll receive, As far as he’s concerned he’s been vindicated in his twisted mind. A martyr for the leftist “cause”.
Thankfully, the court figured out the truth – Juicey is a self serving, limp wristed fraud, who used criminal means to advocate a personal agenda.
