I never followed racing and am not into cars at all, but I knew who Al Unser was. Some people are just memorable. R.I.P. Al.
Checkered Flag ! Victory Lap ! Final Pit Stop . Trophy Case awaits.
I liked Al and always rooted for him when he raced. He seemed like an admirable and humble guy. Hope he finished with checkered flags in heaven.
My wife and some of her family met him at the Unser Museum in Albuquerque.
They had arrived late and were about to leave because the museum was closing, and Al stopped them and invited them back in, showing them around and regaling them with riveting stories about racing. She was impressed with how down-to-earth he really was.
Godspeed Mr. Unser, and may the Good Lord proclaim you ran the race well.
I really liked him & the previous CART series.
Once CART & IRL started splitting off I stopped watching.
The Current Indy Car drivers SUCK and the cars look like shit.
Many of them have rich families that “buy” a spot as a driver because they can contribute to the costs.
F1 also sucks. The cars are Huge, no place to pass, & the Big $$$ teams are the only ones that have a chance. Also Honda is leaving F1.
Right now I like the GP Motorcycles.
Rest Well Mr. Unser, you were fun to watch.
Lets Go Brandon!
