President Joe Biden’s nominee for the vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff told the Senate “gender advisers” for combat troops are critical to the United States’ success, a position some veterans say is nothing more than a left-wing initiative that distracts from the military’s core duties.
The revelation came during a Dec. 8 exchange with Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D., N.H.), who asked how Adm. Christopher Grady intends to implement “women, peace, and security” legislation within the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
“The role of a gender adviser is a way to attack a very significant issue, and if confirmed, I look forward to leveraging those advisers who can make me think better and smarter about the issues that you raise,” Grady said. “So I look forward to, if confirmed, understanding that ecosystem and helping advance that cause going forward again.”
The Women, Peace, and Security Act of 2017 required the Department of Defense to require training in “security initiatives that specifically addresses the importance of meaningful participation by women” and to develop “effective strategies and best practices for ensuring meaningful participation by women.” more

Two letters: NO. Gender has nothing to do with who is the enemy. If a person is threatening the US, they are an enemy. It does not matter what race, creed, color, or biological sex that person is. They threaten our country, therefore, they are the enemy. You are in the military to remove them from the battlefield.

The Republican establishment has allowed this nonsense to flourish. So long as there is no coordinated pushback these absurd activities will not only persist ad nauseam, they will continue to consume resources.
They are meant to distract and divert energy from dealing with actual issues facing the nation.

Admiral Grady is basically hamstrung by some vague “Women, Peace and Security Act” and responded with a similar string of nonsensical mutterings.
Probably since the Revolutionary War, various incompetent Congressmen have tried to interfere with the operation of the military because these politicians have little to no idea of how to implement national defense and/or just want to advance their own agenda. In my opinion, a good military leader must have, in addition to battlefield skills and leadership qualities, the ability to bullshit these political idealogues who have no idea of what they are talking about in the first place. And I think this article demonstrates that Admiral Grady has some bullshitting skills.
Politician: we need to investigate integration of women into peace and security. Military leader: o.k., we’ll leverage that into a program which will define the ecosystem and advance the cause of maintaining military peace and security which may, or may not include the presence of women because of leverage, the ecosystem and advancing the cause. Maybe some sort of vague gender advisor would be good.
