Wisconsin Governor to Consider Stricter Bail Laws Following Waukesha Parade Massacre

Tatum Report:

Democrat governor of Wisconsin Tony Evers recently told a local TV station that he might favor more strict bail regulations in the wake of the Waukesha parade massacre. Wisconsin bail policy made news after career criminal Darrell Brooks was freed on a $1,000 bond and drove his SUV into a Christmas parade, killing six people and wounding more than 60.

In a year-end interview with Channel 3000, Governor Evers said that all stakeholders would have to engage in any future reforms.

He stated:

“You hate to use [a] tragedy like this to create an impetus to change. But if everybody sits back and takes a breath…maybe there’s a way that people that have a violent past could have higher bail. I’m open to that.”

Following the mishandling of bail for the suspected Waukesha killer Darrell Brooks, the state’s top legislator is still debating whether to start an inquiry against Milwaukee District Attorney John Chisholm. more

  1. “maybe there’s a way that people that have a violent past could have higher bail. I’m open to that” ?? So he isn’t sold on higher bail because someone might be inconvenienced, even if it means others must suffer. What ever happened to (various democrat talking points in the past):
    – Even if it would save one life
    – What about the children
    – Never let a crisis go to waste

  2. “Governor Evers said that all stakeholders would have to engage in any future reforms.”

So “all stakeholders” includes felons and defense attorneys, and the ACLU? And I thought my state was f***ed up.

  3. “You hate to use [a] tragedy like this to create an impetus to change.”

Because that never happens – the riots, the burnings, the attacks on cops, defund the police movement just happened organically, right GUV? Maybe I wasn’t paying attention but I thought these were all tied to George Floyd and other “martyrs” used as an impetus to change.
